Chapter 75.
Wolf POV.
It can’t be. Courtney buried her. She f*****g died of cancer. How is she here? My wife, my ole
lady Caitlyn.
“Not going to say hello back? That’s just rude.” She says, clicking her tongue before she rolls her eyes. I think I have stopped breathing. Oh s**t, Courtney is going to freak out.
“How are you alive?” I ask, and she looks sad before she quickly masks it. Chief looks like he
is about to have a heart attack and Venom his mouth is open and he isn’t blinking.
Caitlyn has just left us all speechless.
“Not here. We all have much to discuss. Shall we?” She steps to the side and gestures to the
office. I stand up and stagger, my hands shaking. I need to touch her to make sure she is, in
fact, real and we aren’t all having a mass hallucination.
I pull Venom up and we help Chief to his feet as all of us enter the office. We place Chief on the sofa as I gulp and watch as Caitlyn turns and walks behind the desk. Her ass looks amazing in those tight black pants. She takes her seat and pops her heeled boots up on the surface, clasping her hands together on her lap. We all sit down and wait for her to talk.
I still love this woman. She is the only woman I have ever loved well apart from my mom and
Courtney, that is.
“Start talking?” I say to her and she smirks, pulling one of her guns from the holster on her thigh and places the gun on the desk in front of her and I gulp. This is not the Caitlyn I know. This woman is someone else, someone to be feared.
“I did have cancer. I am part of the assassin group called Alpha. My codename is Striker. Over the years, I have been working with them. Courtney and I moved often that was because I had targets I needed to take out. When I ran away from all of this fuckery. I was on a mission. You see, Hunter, I was assigned to watch you and your MC. I wasn’t supposed to fall in love with you, but I did. When I saw you with Michelle, I had to report back to my boss. I was reassigned, pulled out of retirement. Not easy with a newborn in tow. But I made it work.” She says and I just sit there and listen. You could hear a pin drop as we all listen intently.
“How are you alive, then? And who the hell did our daughter bury?” I snap and she picks up the
gun and I go quiet.
“I was getting to that before you lost your cool. Don’t ever raise your voice to me again, Hunter,

Or you will be the hunted.” She says with so much control in her voice.
“I had to disappear. When Courtney came to me and told me she was pregnant, I just found out I had breast cancer. Yeah, it was a t**t. But luckily it was caught in time. I didn’t tell Courtney. I had my orders. I had to disappear to give Courtney a chance. I had treatment. secretly. My organisation has access to all kinds of drugs. Drugs that can cure cancer without
being too invasive. So yes, I lost some weight, and I had my death staged. I have watched
from a far to see how Courtney is doing and I must say I am impressed. I know about her
condition. Doc is one of mine. So she can not know that I am alive not until bean is born. The
person she buried. Well, she was a friend of mine, the closest thing I had to a sister. You have
your brothers in arms. I have mine. She didn’t have family, so I made sure she would.” She
says and I feel nothing. This is not the woman I fell in love with.
“You let Courtney grieve for you. You could have told her about me. I would have taken her and
you could have gone off and done what you needed to do. What you did is sick! You left her
vulnerable, with no answers to all the secrets you kept buried, and now she is paying for it.
Don’t you have any compassion, Caitlyn? Or is your heart as black as your pants?” I snap at
her as I stand up, drawing my gun and aiming it at her.
Caitlyn chuckles and stands slowly. She walks around the desk and right up to me. Grabbing
the barrel of the gun and places it against her forehead. She looks me in the eye and all I can
see is fire in hers.
“Go on, do it. Never pull a gun unless you intend to use it.” She says and I falter and lower my
gun and she smirks.
“You seem to think that Courtney is fragile. She isn’t. I know what she is capable of. I trained
her from when she could walk. That girl, our daughter, could bring you all to your knees if she
chose to. Trust me when I say this, Hunter. Courtney doesn’t need protecting. I left Courtney
clues so she would find her way back to you and to my nonno. Who do you think released all
my details when I died? Hmm, it was me. How do you think you never found us? Because of
me! I had to keep her safe because of what I do for a living. I maybe an MC and mafia
princess, but I am far more than that. Oh, and by the way. Karma is also one of mine.” She
spits and I just look at her as I move back, shaking my head at her words.
“Why come now?” Chief asks and Caitlyn turns her head and smiles softly at her nonno.
“Perché Ivanov ha tradito tuo nonno.” She snaps in Italian and I look at Chief in confusion.
“What did you just say? English, Caitlyn!” I say to her and she rolls her eyes.
“Because Ivanov has betrayed you grandfather.” She says and I look at Chief and he looks

pissed.
“That is why you came back?” Venom asks and Caitlyn turns to look at him and smiles at him, but it isn’t friendly.
“Oh, the baby daddy. Do you remember the last time we met? I pulled a gun on you then as well. So Courtney has forgiven you? Good, don’t f**k it up, Kaden Frost. Or there will be no coming back from where I will send you.” She says and we all gulp.
“Yes, Ivanov has betrayed you all. You see, you handed Benito Bianchi to him. That was a big
mistake. You had Grim, and you had Chloe.” What? Had?
“Oh, you didn’t know. Well, you will find you don’t have them anymore. Ivanov has his own moles here. Don’t believe me, go and check. That is why I am here. Why I ran with Courtney
when I found you f*****g Michelle. Michelle still has family out there. Her cousin is Ivanov.”
She says, folding her arms over her chest. Well, s**t!
I pull my phone out of my cut and dial Dragon, and he answers.
“Check the prisoners.” I snap down the line, and he shuffles as Richie moves to his laptop and
types away.
“Their both gone.”
