Courtney POV.
“I’m sorry for giving you a fright. That was not my intention, so please lower your gun and let us talk like civilised women, yes?” She says, her voice is thick but at the same time is it is melodious. It makes her sound sweet and innocent. But I know better.
“How did you find me and how the f**k did you get into my house?” I ask her, and she smiles softly at me and chuckles.
“Both excellent questions. I will answer you only when you sit down and get comfortable. I’m sure you don’t want to go into early labour now? Come, I won’t hurt you. If I wanted to, I would have done so when I slipped in through your back door while you were on the porch swing.”
She says, raising an eyebrow at me. Damnit, I didn’t lock the back door.
“What, so you have trained raccoons now?” I say and she laughs, shaking her head.
“That would be something, but no. Those little cuties are nothing to do with me,” she says and
I eye her before I lower my gun and move to the sofa and sit down. Katya places pillows behind my back and she smiles at my bump lovingly.
“Thank you, now talk.” I say to her and she looks up at me.
“Well, you know how I got in, so let me tell you how I found you.” She says and I get
comfortable as she turns to face me.
“When Dom called me and told me that you ran and your sold the SUV. They managed to track
the mustang to the bus station.” She says but I’m stuck on the name Dom.
“Silly me, you know him as Havoc. Dominic is my one. Like Venom is yours. But anyway, Dom
called me and told me they found your car and they managed to find out what bus you used.
Unfortunately for them, that bus, as you know, went through several states and two cities. So I
had my team look at the small towns, knowing you wouldn’t go to a big city.” Wow, ok, she is
good.
“What made you think I wouldn’t go to a big city?” I ask her, even though we are sitting in my living room in a small town on a ranch.
“Big cities have a lot of people. Some would go there to hide, but you and I both know that
there is more chance of being spotted by people associated with our families in big cities. So I
thought where would I go if I was running from my troubles? I knew in your current state you

“And lies. My mother was the rightful heir to our family empire. My papa couldn’t handle the fact that a woman would be more powerful than him. So not long after I was born, he killed her. He usurped my mother and took everything that should have gone to me. In our world, women like you and I are seen as pawns. Pieces of property to be sold off to the highest bidder all to secure alliances. Not just us women, but men, too. But different rules apply to us. It’s quite funny that I shot and killed my papa, maybe around the same time you shot your mother. Both of us have decided to forge our own paths. “I understand that, but why are you here and does my family know where I am?” I ask her and
she looks at me before she sighs.
“They don’t know, I haven’t told them. But Venom is losing his mind and is desperate to find you both. He has cut ties with your grandfather. As for why I’m here. You, like me, want change, and it is time for that change. I have come here because it is our destiny to walk that path together.” She says and my heart breaks that I have done this to Kaden. But no, he knew about my mamma. He lied to me, too.
“He knew about my mamma. He knew she was still alive.” I tell her as I look away and she
takes my hands in hers and I turn my head and look at her.

“They lied to you, Courtney. Kaden didn’t like it, he hated it knowing it would blow up in all their faces. But he didn’t just leave because of your mamma coming back. Striker told them all why
she was there. Again they kept it from you,” she says and I look at her.
“Striker is my mamma?” I ask her and she nods her head once.
“Da, the reason Havoc, and Venom left you was because my papa had a mole in your club.
This mole was instructed to get Grim and Chloe out and brought to him.” I gasp as her words and my eyes widen at what she has just told me.
“Where are they now? So that is why Kaden left?” I ask her and she nods her head again.
“My papa killed Grim in front of Venom and Havoc. I had plans for Chloe, plans that involved you. I don’t care that she is my relative. Again, more things that were kept from you. Michelle was my papa’s cousin. Not long after my papa killed Grim, I killed my papa and Chloe tried to shoot me but she missed and shot and killed Benito and then escaped. We are still looking for her. Then Venom got the call from your grandfather that you knew the truth. No sooner had Venom and Havoc returned to your club house you had already gone.” She says and the tears
leave my eyes.

“I think you should call Venom and tell him where you are. You are the heiress to not only the Cosa Nostra but to the biggest MC in the world. It is your right to take them back. Your
and mamma she is alive and they are all worried sick. They know what they did was wrong they are living with that guilt. Your family is falling apart. I’m not telling you this to make you feel guilty. But I’m here to give you a choice.” She says as she wipes my tears away and I just
look at her.
“What choice? I’m done Katya, they have hurt me over and over. There is only so much I can take.” I say as I gulp the sob that wants to escape. She moves closer to me and wraps her arms around me and I break. She rubs my back as I cry on her shoulder.
“You take what is yours, you join forces with me. I will keep you safe from them. The Bratva and the Cosa Nostra united as one. We will make it right. That women like us are never hurt again. Your grandfather is scared to hand everything over to you. He has seen what you can do, and that terrifies him. Striker has always wanted you to take your place as donna. She never wanted it.” Katya tells me and I move out of her hold and look at her.
“I don’t want them killed. But you’re right, things have to change. But I can’t do anything while I’m like this,” I say, and she chuckles.
