Chapter 89.
Wolf POV.
Me like the rest of everyone here, we are going out of our mind with worry. No signs of Courtney anywhere. Kaden has removed his allegiance to Chief and has gone nomad in his need to find Courtney.
Caitlyn has recovered and has kept her distance from me and everyone here. The only people she speaks to are Richie and Fabio.
Chief, well, he doesn’t seem that bothered that his pregnant great–granddaughter is missing. All he said in response is she is a big girl. She will come back. I’m starting to think he doesn’t give a s**t.
He is showing no effort whatsoever in helping us to find her. It’s like he has no f*****g heart. I have stayed in touch with Kaden. Well, it’s one–sided he never responds. Same as Havoc. He doesn’t either. They are all disgusted with us and I don’t blame them.
I should have told Courtney from day one, but I was worried that would send her over the edge and the last thing I wanted to do was put my daughter under anymore stress. Well, that didn’t exactly go as planned. She pulled my gun on me before she turned it on her mom and shot her. We pushed her too far and I will regret that for the rest of my life.
I’m starting to believe that all is not what it seems. Something is nagging at me. Why would Chief instruct Venom to find his granddaughter? Not knowing that Caityln had a child. Why, after twenty years, did he start looking for her? Whatever the reason is s**t is not adding up.
The talk around the clubhouse is that Chief is losing his mind, and he has never given a s**t
about Caitlyn or Courtney. At first, I just put it all down to idle gossip. But now I’m starting to
believe it.
I walk towards the office where Richie is and knock on the door and open it. All three of them.
Caitlyn, Fabio, and Richie all look at me like I’m not supposed to be there. But f**k that,
Courtney is my daughter, too.
“Can I help you, Wolf?” Richie asks, and I close the door behind me and walk further into the room. Caitlyn looks at the laptop in front of her and Fabio is seeing what she is doing as
Richie looks at me.
“Something isn’t adding up.” I say and Richie looks at Caitlyn and she nods her head once and
Richie gestures for me to take a seat, so I do. I’m bone tired and going out of my mind.

Chapter 89.
“Tell me, Hunter, what isn’t adding up?” Caitlyn asks, but she doesn’t lift her head from what
she is doing. All I want is for her to look at me. She is wearing the chain around her neck with our wedding ring on it. She is still my wife, well, legally anyway. But not physically.
“Chief is losing the plot. He doesn’t give a s**t about Courtney, and the club members are
starting to talk. We need to find her. I don’t want to upset you, baby, but I don’t trust him.” I say, and that stops her from typing as she lifts her gaze to me over the top of the laptop. With the light shining on her face, it gives her an eery glow as she smiles, but it looks sinister under the
light.
“Good,” she says before she starts typing again. That’s it, just good? Seriously?
“What do you mean, good? Did you not hear me?” I say to her and she chuckles, shaking her
head.
“Oh, I heard you, and it took you long enough to come to that conclusion. Why do you think I
am here? Not just because of Grim and Chloe escaping. But because I know what my nonno is
capable of. You see, it is exhausting playing the forgiving granddaughter. The real reason why
I came back was because he was targeting our daughter. That is why I’m here. I don’t trust
him. Yes, I ran after what happened to my family, but I ran because it was him.” What the f**k?
She did not just say that? She did not just tell us that her grandfather killed her family? Did
she?
“No, he wouldn’t.” I say before my brain engaged with my big mouth.
“Oh, but he did, It wasn’t just Grim’s men I was killing, it was Chiefs as well. He set up
Courtney, he set us all up. And now our daughter is out there somewhere and has covered her
tracks, Just like I showed her.” She says with a look of pride on her smug face.
“You knew and didn’t say anything?” I accuse her, and she nods her head before clicking her
tongue.
“Yup, he was going to use Ivanov to kill her. Well, that was before Katya took her father out.
Katya is smart and I would bet Katya is already with Courtney as we speak. They will both be
plotting and planning to take down Chief.” This is treason and is punishable by death.
To 90 after a club president is an instant death sentence and Courtney is going to do that.
“What aren’t you telling me?” I ask as I lean forward and Fabio chuckles, and so does Richie.
“My marker has literally just been activated, by none other than Katya Ivanov.” WHAT?
“She is with Courtney. That wasn’t an educated guess. You have known for how long, Caitlyn?

f**k me! I’ve been going out of my mind and you f*****g knew.” I stand up and slam my hands on the table. Caitlyn shoots up from her chair and launches herself over the table. I catch her as we both fall before I end up with a blade to my throat.
“Open your ears Hunter. Literally, as you walked into the office, I received the notification from Katya. She and Venom are both with Courtney. Katya needs us. We are all in danger. Courtney has figured it out. We leave in thirty minutes, so if you are onboard, then you need to be ready with your club. Venom has already instructed Havoc to get the club ready to move out to their
location.” She says, and I’m turned on immensely. She leans down and kisses my lips.
I need to feel her. But she moves too quickly for me to grab her.
“Later, my love, right now, Courtney is the only thing that matters. You have twenty–seven
minutes before we move out. My team will be waiting at the meeting point.” She says as she
offers me her hand.
“How do we tell Chief?” I say, and she smirks.
“We don’t. Our daughter is in danger. Chief was going to kill her, so f**k him. He has caused
me and my family nothing but heartache. Now he wants our daughter. Not f*****g happening.
So you in or not?” She asks me and I know it doesn’t take a genius to figure out what I’m going to choose. Courtney, my daughter, my little girl, is in danger because of her grandpa. There is
only one way to end this.
“Let’s go and get our girl.”
