Jacqueline didn’t give up.
For the next few days, she still brought me breakfast every day. Sometimes, when I came home, I even found freshly made home–cooked dishes on the dining table.
They didn’t look like much, but I knew it was a big improvement over what she’d done before.
It seemed like she had been practicing at Eric’s place all this time.
Without hesitation, I called the police for her breaking into my house.

Without hesitation, I called the police for her breaking into my house.
When they caught her, she looked completely shocked, as if she didn’t expect me to be so heartless.
“Stop this, you’re not a child anymore. Don’t be so childish.”
I said her own words back at her.
She looked at me, finally losing all her strength. Tears streamed down her face silently.
A week later, Jacqueline decided to return to her home country.
It wasn’t because of the police report. It was because her visa had expired.
She had a three–month visa.
She tried to renew it but was rejected both times.
With no other choice, Jacqueline had to go back.
Before she left, she called me, asking to meet one last time.
I wanted to refuse, but she insisted, saying she needed to give our relationship a perfect ending.
After thinking it over, I agreed in the end.
When I arrived at the agreed place that day, she hadn’t come yet. I stood there, looking around at the familiar setting, and for a moment, I felt
the same way I did when we were in love.
I couldn’t even remember the last time we went on a date.
Ever since Eric showed up, it felt like we hadn’t been alone together again.
As I was lost in thought, a commotion at the door caught my attention.
I snapped back to reality and instinctively turned to look.
Just like in the dreams I’d had so many times before, Jacqueline appeared in a pure white, elaborate wedding dress, smiling at me, walking
toward me with graceful steps.
Her makeup was flawless, her features delicate, looking as beautiful as a painting caught by chance.
I froze for a moment as she came right up to me.
People around us started taking photos, laughing, and teasing.
“I promised you we’d take wedding photos,” she said, placing a suit bag in front of me, almost pleading as she softly spoke, “Let’s just call this a way to fulfill our regret, okay?”
I looked at her anxious face.
Inside the bag was clearly an expensive, handmade suit.
I had been in that humble position once, too.
The night she spent with Eric was the same night my closest family member passed away.
I was in so much pain and wanted her by my side, but she listened to someone and insulted me, calling me dirty–minded and even going to
Eric just to make me angry.
I finally broke down and lost control in front of her, demanding answers.
She slapped me across the face and told me to apologize to Eric in public or she’d break un with me

At that time, I was just as humble, begging her not to treat me this way.
But what did she do then?
I didn’t want to think about it.
Now, Jacqueline’s nervous expression was the same as her once proud and distant look.
As she waited for my response, I finally spoke softly.
“Sorry, I have a girlfriend now.
“If I agree to this, she might misunderstand.”
Just as I said, the door to the café opened again, and a woman walked in, greeted the people around us, and quickly made her way toward me.
“Sorry, I’m late.
“Lawrence, your friend hasn’t left yet, right? We still have time to say goodbye, don’t we?”
She smiled sweetly.
When her eyes landed on Jacqueline, there was a brief flicker of confusion, but it quickly faded, and she returned to her usual calm.
“Teresa Kane, my girlfriend,” I introduced her to Jacqueline.
When I was at my lowest, it was Teresa who stayed by my side. That night, two fragile souls helped each other through the worst.
I never expected we’d reunite here not long ago.
And it just naturally led us to be together.
Jacqueline’s eyes were red, her steps unsteady, and her fists clenched as she fell apart.
“I don’t believe this.
“You always said I was the one you loved the most! You promised you’d never leave me!”
She screamed, desperate and in pain.
In the end, the café staff gently escorted her out, saying she was disturbing the other customers.
I walked away with Teresa, not sparing her another glance. We left without looking back.
That night, I saw the local news.
Jacqueline was deported back to her home country. At the airport, she was still wearing that wedding dress barefoot and screaming my name in utter despair.
The staff tried to stop her, but she struggled wildly, shouting.
“Get out of my way! Lawrence is still at the airport. He’s about to board!
“I need to stop him. I have to get in front of him. If he sees me, he won’t leave!”
It took several staff members to finally pin her
to
the ground.
Jacqueline continued to scream my name, and her cries were filled with agony.

Chapter 10
After Jacqueline was deported, she was placed in a mental hospital.
She lost her job, and her mental state fluctuated from bad to
every
day.
It was said that Eric had a hard time finding a job and wanted to confront Jacqueline to vent his anger. But when he saw her, Jacqueline didn’t
hesitate to slap him across the face.
Before he could react, she scratched and clawed at him, hurling the most vicious insults.
In the end, both of them fell from the building.
Eric’s parents were devastated and furious. They demanded Jacqueline’s entire estate as compensation, but since Jacqueline had been mentally unstable when the incident occurred, and with surveillance footage showing Eric had verbally insulted her first, they only received a
small amount.
Unable to get the money they wanted, Eric’s parents resorted to live–streaming rumors and smearing Jacqueline, hoping to gain public
sympathy.
However, Jacqueline had a few close friends who immediately presented evidence of how Jacqueline had cared for them in the past.
Eric’s parents‘ actions were exposed, and they were publicly condemned. Eventually, they returned to their hometown in disgrace.
By the time I learned all of this, three years had passed.
I was in the process of applying to return to my home country.
A lawyer contacted me and told me that before her death, Jacqueline had signed a will, leaving all her assets to me, and asked how I wanted to handle it.
I thought for a moment and decided to donate all of the money to the mental hospital where she had stayed.
After hanging up the phone, I looked up at the still bright and clear sky.
I held Teresa’s hand tightly.
From then on, our lives would only get better and more exciting.
