Sabrina’s POV
Nicholas pulled his chair closer to my bed. His face was serious, but there was no sign of anger or irritation. There was only sadness in his eyes. He raised his hand as if he wanted to take mine but hesitated.
“I just want to know how you feel,” he said softly. His voice was soft as if he was afraid of hurting.
I stared at him, trying to absorb every word that came out of his mouth. “I… don’t know,” I answered honestly. ” There’s so much going on.”
Nicholas sighed, nodding slowly. “We can talk about it. I’m here for you.”
His words warmed my heart, and though the pain I felt was still there, his presence provided some comfort.
“Sabrina, listen to me,” he said in a soft but firm tone. “I know I’m not perfect. I know I haven’t been paying attention to you as much as I should have. But don’t ever think that I’m here because I have to. I choose to be here. For you.”
”
His words brought tears to my eyes again. I covered my face with my hands, feeling too fragile to be seen like this. But Nicholas didn’t move an inch. He stayed by my side, letting me cry until I was exhausted.
After a while, the tears began to subside. I felt the warmth of his hand gently patting my back, giving me a sense, of security that seemed to take away some of the burden inside me.
“I’m here,” he whispered, his voice soothing. “You’re not alone.”
I lifted my head, trying to find the strength to look at him. Though my face was wet and red, I saw sincerity in Nicholas‘ eyes. He didn’t judge, only deep empathy.
“I’m scared,” I finally admitted, my voice shaking
Nicholas nodded as if understanding. “That’s natural. We all have fears. But we can get through this together.”
His words touched my heart. At that moment, I felt a little stronger, as if there was a small hope.
“I don’t know what to do,” I said after a while. “I don’t know how to deal with all of this.”
Nicholas took a deep breath, and I could feel the sincerity in his voice as he said, “We’ll face this together, Sabrina. Whatever happens, you don’t have to be alone anymore.”
I looked at him with wet eyes. He looked serious, no doubt on his face. I wanted to believe him, wanted to believe that he was sincere. But the fear was still there, nestling in the corner of my heart.
“What if this is all just an illusion?” I asked, my voice shaking. “What if I never get out of this?”
Nicholas took a deep breath as if searching for the right words. “We can’t control what happens in the future,” he said softly. “But we can choose how we deal with what’s here now.”
I pondered his words. There was truth in his statement, even if it was hard to face. honestly. “Like no one understands.”
Nicholas reached out, taking my han
But I feel alone,”
I said
“You’re not alone. I’m here, and I’ll always try to understand.”
His warm touch strengthened my heart. Maybe, by sharing this burden, I could find a path to hope.
“But I’ve missed so much,” I murmured. “The treatment… The time with Charlie… it all feels too late.”
Nicholas shook his head slowly. “It’s not too late,” he said firmly. “As long as you’re here, as long as I’m here, we

I didn’t know if I should belleve him. But for the first time a long time, I felt a little lighter. There was something in Nicholas’s eyes that made me want to belleve even though doubt still clung to my mind.

Nicholas smiled softly as if hearing my nascent hope. “That’s a good step,” he said. “We can start from here, slowly.”
I nodded, though the fear was still there. But beneath that fear, a glimmer of hope began to grow. I wanted to feel his presence, to know if he could really help me through this difficult time.
“You won’t regret it, right?” I asked, seeking reassurance.

He squeezed my hand tighter. “No, I won’t leave. We’ll get through this together,”
At his words, my heart fluttered. Maybe, just maybe, I could let him in and give him a chance to truly be by my side.
I took a deep breath, trying to gather the courage to tell him everything. Nicholas was still holding my hand, his face serious and caring. But still, part of me was scared. What if he didn’t understand? What if my words were just for nothing?
But I was tired of keeping it all to myself. If I didn’t speak now, when would I? I looked down at his hand still holding mine, and decided to speak.
“Nicholas,” I began in a low voice, almost a whisper. “Do you know why I want a divorce?”
He didn’t answer; he just stared at me with a look that begged me to continue. I took another breath, trying to calm the tremor in my voice.
“I’m lonely,” I finally said. My voice was shaking, and I couldn’t stop the tears that were starting to flow again. “I feel like… I’m alone in this marriage.”
Nicholas opened his mouth as if he wanted to say something, but I held up my hand to stop him. “Hear me out,” I pleaded.
He nodded slowly, allowing me to continue. “Since the beginning of our marriage, I knew you were a busy man. You had a demanding job, and I understood that. I tried to understand that you were doing it all for our family. But as time went on, I felt like I was just a shadow in your life.” I stared at his hands, unable to look him in the eye.
