Nicholas’s POV
Charlie jumped out of the car as soon as I opened the door. Be held the yellow lilles we had bought tightly, protecting them as if they were his most precious treasure could only follow his small, hurried steps towards Sabrina’s roomn.
“Slow down, Charlie!” I called, but he only glanced back belefly before continuing his run.
We arrived in front of Sabrina’s door. I reached for the doorknob to open it, but Charlie was faster. He pushed the door open enthusiastically and then ran inside.
“Mommy Sabrinal” he called, his voice full of happiness.
On the bed, Sabrina, who had previously been leaning with her eyes closed, looked surprised. She opened her eyes wide, looking confused for a moment before realizing who had just called her.
“Charlie…” she whispered, her voice shaking.
Charlie jumped onto the bed, immediately hugging Sabrina tightly. His small arms wrapped around Sabrina’s still -weak body. Sabrina closed her eyes, and tears began to flow down her cheeks.
“I missed you, Charlie,” she said between sobs.
Charlie looked at Sabrina with a big smile.
“I missed you too, Mommy Sabrina. I brought your favorite flowers.”
He handed her the yellow lilies carefully. Sabrina looked at the flowers, then looked at Charlie, as if in disbelief. Her hands were shaking as she took the flowers.
“Thank you, honey. I really like it,” she said in a hoarse voice. She hugged Charlie even tighter as if she didn’t want to let him go.
I stood by the door, watching everything with mixed feelings. My little heart felt warm seeing them, but guilt still loomed. How could I let Sabrina feel lonely like this?
Charlie finally let go of his hug, but he still sat beside Sabrina, holding her hand.
“Mom Sabrina, Dad said you are sick. You have to get better, okay? I don’t want you to get sick again.”
Sabrina smiled softly, even though tears were still welling up in her eyes. “I will try, honey. Because I wants to continue to be here for you.
I felt my throat tighten. Sabrina spoke with such sincerity. Every word she said felt like a hard slap to me. Guilt and regret raged inside me. I had to do something, not only for Sabrina but also for Charlie.
Sabrina finally turned to me, probably just realizing that I had been standing there all this time. She didn’t say anything, but her gaze was enough to make me feel even sijaller. It was as if she could see right through me, through all the defenses I had built. I tried to smile a little, though it felt awkward.
Inside, I prayed that I would find the right words. I wanted to tell Sabrina that I was here for her and that I wanted to support her as much as I could. But the words were stuck unable to come out.
Charlie, oblivious to the tension between us, stepped forward eagerly. He held out a bouquet of yellow lilies, his face bright with hope.
Seeing Sabrina’s face light up as she accepted the flowers, my heart felt a little lighter. This was the moment we

I knew this was just the beginning. There was so much to fix, so much to talk about. But for now, seeing Charlle and Sabrina together, I felt a glimmer of hope. Focusing on hem, I resolved to find a way to support them both, to face the challenges ahead together.
Charlie glanced at me. “Dad, come here! Sit with us,” he sail cheerfully, waving his hand. I nodded and walked over, sitting in a chair near the bed. Sabrina said nothing, ist looked at Charlie lovingly.
“You don’t know how much I miss you,” Sabrina sald, stroking Charlie’s hair.
“I miss you too, I want you to come home,” Charlie sald Innocently, making the atmosphere a little quieter.
Sabrina looked at me with a look in her eyes that was hard for me to interpret. I could only lower my head, not knowing what to answer. But in my heart, I knew I had to fix all of this. There was no more time to delay. That realization fueled my passion to act.
Charlie’s sudden laughter filled the room, bringing my focus back. He was showing the flowers to Sabrina, telling her how he had chosen them at the store. His eyes sparkled as he told his story, and seeing him so cheerful made my heart feel a little calmer.
Sabrina chuckled a faint smile that I hadn’t seen in a long time. Her smile, though weak,
gave new life to atmosphere in the room. Seeing that moment, I felt as if hope was starting to grow again.

Charlie continued his story, endlessly describing how he wanted to make Mommy Sabrina happy. At that moment, I felt a warmth flow between us, even though the tension from before was still in the air.
I took a deep breath. No matter what, I had to make sure they were happy. Sabrina and Charlie deserved it. I couldn’t fail them again.
Charlie continued to ramble on about the flowers he had picked, his voice full of joy, like the burden of longing he had felt had finally been lifted. Sabrina listened with a smile that never faded, even though I could tell she was still weak. Her hand continued to grip Charlie’s as if it were the source of her strength.
I watched them in silence, a strange warmth flowing through my chest. It was a simple joy that I had been neglecting, seeing my little family together.
“Daddy,” Charlie’s voice called out to me, jolting me from my thoughts. He looked up at me with sparkling eyes. We’ll see Mommy Sabrina often, okay?”
Sabrina stared at me for a moment, then looked down again, trying to hide the hope on her face. I swallowed, guilt tripping me more tightly than ever.
“Sure, son,” I finally answered. “I promise.”
Sabrina turned to me with an expression that was hard to decipher. There was disbelief, but also a little relief. I looked back at her, trying to convince her with my gaze that I was serious,
Charlie cheered and hugged Sabrina again. He continued talking, lightening the mood. But behind all the laughter and jokes, I knew that a tough task lay ahead.
I wasn’t going to let this go. For Sabrina, for Charlie, I had to make it right. No matter what it took, I wasn’t going to give up.
“Charlie,” I said finally, “I and Mom Sabrina love you so much.”
Charlie smiled broadly, nodding “I love you, too, Dad and Mom!”
Sabrina wiped away another tear that threatened to fall, then smiled warmly. The three of us sat together in a

meaningful silence as if the world outside no longer mattered. At least for now, everything felt whole again.
