Sabrina’s POV
I swallowed, my heart clenching at his request. I wanted to say yes so badly, but I knew it was impossible.” Honey,” I whispered, stroking his hair. “You have to come home with Daddy. You have school tomorrow, and I want you to be a good boy.”
“But…” His voice cracked, and his eyes started to fill with tears. “I don’t want to go home, Mommy. I want to be with you.”
I tried to hold back my own tears. I didn’t want him to see e sad “Listen, Charlie,” I said softly. “After school tomorrow, Daddy will bring you back here. We can play again, and Mommy promises to read you another story.”
Charlie looked at me hesitantly, his lips pursed sadly. “Promise?”
I smiled and nodded. “Promise, honey.”
Nicholas stepped closer, placing his hand on Charlie’s shoulder. “Mommy’s right, Charlie. We’ll come back here after school tomorrow.”
Charlie finally nodded slightly, though his face was still pouting. He hugged me tightly before getting out of bed. ” I love you, Mommy,” he whispered in my ear.
“I love you too, Charlie,” I replied, kissing the top of his head. The sweet scent of baby shampoo still lingered in his hair, reminding me of the wonderful times we had played together.
Nicholas stared at me for a moment, his eyes full of understanding, before taking Charlie’s hand. “Come on, Charlie,” he said softly, his voice soft but firm. They walked toward the door, and as they walked away, I felt a huge hole in my heart.
In a flash, I remembered all the laughter and tears we had shared. Longing began to creep in, but I knew I had to be strong for Charlie. “Charlie,” I called once more before they were completely out.
He turned, his face bright with an innocent smile. “Yes, Mommy?” His voice was sweet as if it erased all the sadness that was there.
I smiled a little, trying to hold back the tears that wanted to fall. “Mommy will wait for you tomorrow, okay?”
She nodded enthusiastically as if that promise could erase all worries. “Yes, Mom! I’ll be back tomorrow!”
Nicholas led him out, and I stared at the closed door. Silently, I prayed for tomorrow to come sooner, so I could hold Charlie again. Every second that passed felt longer, but I knew our love would always bind us, even when apart.
Nicholas gave me a brief nod before they left. When the door closed, the room fell silent again.
I closed my eyes, praying that tomorrow would come soon, bringing them back to me. In the silence, I felt a mixture of longing and hope.
Every second that passed felt longer without them, but the belief in our future together gave me new strength. With every breath, I hoped that tomorrow would bring joy, laughter, and deeper love between us.

This morning, my spirits felt stronger. Usually, my chemo schedule left me feeling trapped in darkness, but today there was a little light. Fear still lurked, but the thought of Charlie coming after school gave me new hope.
As I got ready, I imagined the moment when he would arrive, his bright smile wiping away all my worries. I

wanted to make this day count, not just for me, but for him as well.
I tried to remember how precious the time we would spend jogether would be. Today, I was determined to get through this for Charlie, for hope, and for the precious time to come.
Nicholas walked in carefully as if he knew how fragile my mood was this morning. His small smile, though rare, brought me the warmth I needed. He set a glass of water beside me, a simple gesture that reminded me that I was not alone in this journey.
I looked at him for a moment, feeling the support radiating from his gaze. In silence, we shared a meaningful moment, a reminder that in the midst of challenges, there are people who care.
With a glass of water in hand, I began to feel a sense of calm wash over me. Nicholas sat on the edge of the bed, and though he didn’t say much, his presence gave me strength. Today, I knew I would fight, and I would do it with hope and love surrounding me.
“Morning,” he said.
I just nodded, trying to hide the nervousness that was starting to creep up on me. He sat on the chair beside the bed, staring at me with a look in his eyes that I could hardly read
Nicholas stared at me intently, as if trying to read my mixed feelings. The atmosphere in the room felt quiet, only the ticking of the clock reminded me that time was ticking
After I took a sip of water, the refreshing taste helped to relieve my nervousness a little. The pause made me feel calmer, even though uncertainty still loomed.
“I will accompany you today,” he said suddenly.
I looked up, surprised. “No need, Nicholas. I can do it myself.”
He shook his head firmly. “I want to accompany you, Sabrina. I will stay there until it is finished.”
There was something in his tone that made me unable to argue. I just stared at him in confusion, trying to understand what he really felt.
“Come on,” he said, standing up. “We can’t be late.”
As we walked towards the chemotherapy room, every second felt slower. The atmosphere around us was quiet, only the sound of footsteps on the cold floor could be heard. My heart was pounding as if trying to fight the uncertainty that lurked.
The room, with its white walls and bright lights, always gave me a pressing feeling. The smell of antiseptic and medicine filled the air, reminding me of all the painful experiences I had gone through. Every time I entered this room, memories of the pain and exhaustion came back to haunt my mind.
Nicholas walked beside me, his presence slightly easing the tension I felt. He seemed calm, trying to provide support without many words. I knew that even though each session was hard, there was hope at the end of the road.
