Sabrina’s POV
The warmth that spread through me made me feel calmer. This moment, while full of vulnerability, also gave me new hope. Nicholas was trying to get closer, and I knew that we had a chance to rebuild what had been lost.
“I want us to be able to support each other again,” he continued, his voice soft. “We can get through this together.”
Slowly, I nodded, excited to begin this new journey with him. While the road ahead might not always be easy, I was confident that with determination and sincerity, we could get through it all.
“Then you should be prepared,” I said finally, trying to tease to case the tension. “I can be a pain in the ass, you know.”
Nicholas laughed softly, his voice a music I hadn’t heard in long time. “I knew that from the start, Sabrina.”
The laughter lightened the mood, and I felt a weight lift from my heart. Teasing each other was part of us, something that had always made our relationship feel alive.
“Well, be prepared for all the chaos I’m about to cause,” I said with a smile.
Nicholas just shook his head with a smile, and I felt a warmth well up inside me. This moment, though simple, was a reminder that despite all the hardships, we still had a strong bond. We could find happiness again, one chuckle at a time.
We laughed together, our voices filling the silence of the night. For the first time in a long time, I felt like we were truly connected. Maybe it wouldn’t change overnight, but at least it was a good start.
“Thank you, Nicholas,” I said in a whisper.
He looked at me softly, a warm smile on his face. “No need to thank me. I should have always been there for you.
I knew that these small steps were part of a larger journey toward the healing and happiness we both desired.
He patted my hand gently. “Go to sleep, Sabrina. I’ll be here”
And with a lighter heart, I closed my eyes, letting the warmth and calm of the night flow into my dreams. The sound of Nicholas’s calm breathing beside me helped me feel safe, as if all the worries and tensions were slowly melting away.
In the darkness, I felt surrounded by a genuine sense of love and support. My dreams began to fill with new hopes. and dreams- of a better future, of us and Charlie. This moment was the first step toward recovery, and I was ready for all that was to come.
Morning came softly, the sun peeking through the curtains of the window, illuminating the room with a warm glow. My eyes slowly opened, and my body felt a little better, though still weak. I turned my gaze to the side, and there Nicholas was still fast asleep. His face looked peaceful, as if all the burdens of his life had stopped for a while.
Seeing him like this brought a deep sense of calm. There was something soothing in his presence, and I felt grateful for this moment. Even though our journey was still long, I knew that we could get through it together.
I tried not to wake him, wanting to enjoy this moment of peace. With a heart full of hope, I lay back down, letting the warm sunlight envelop my body. Today was a new beginning, and I was ready to welcome all the possibilities that would come.
I smiled a little as I studied his face. Every line on his face reminded me of the beautiful days we had spent together, before everything felt so far away and complicated. My heart was pounding as I reached out, my fingers gently touching his check. It felt like a dream to see Nicholas here, by my side, after feeling alone for so long. The gentle touch made him stir slightly, and I held my breath, hoping not to wake him. In the silence of the morning, I felt a deep sense of gratitude. This moment, though simple, was so meaningful.
I knew we still had a lot to talk about and deal with, but right now, I just wanted to enjoy this closeness. With Nicholas by my side, my hope for a better future grew stronger. We could start rebuilding the love that once was, one small step at a time..
In my heart, I thanked God for this second chance. Though knew our journey wouldn’t be easy, I felt more prepared to see it through. I wanted to cherish this moment, this moment where I felt truly loved and cared for.
Every second that passed felt precious. The soft sunlight warmed the room, and the sound of Nicholas‘ breathing created a peaceful atmosphere that was hard to put into words. I was determined to remember this feeling–a feeling of hope and love that had been found in so long.
However, that happiness was suddenly ruined by a sudden nausea. My stomach felt like it was churning, and I knew I couldn’t hold it in any longer. I immediately got out of bed, walking quickly to the bathroom.
I barely had time to close the bathroom door when my body vomited the contents of my stomach into the sink. My body was shaking, and tears were streaming down my face from the uncomfortable sensation. When I heard
- up. hurried footsteps, I knew Nicholas had woken
“Sabrina?” his voice sounded panicked from outside the bathroom. “What happened? Are you okay?”
I didn’t have time to answer because another wave of nausea hit me again. I could only respond in a soft voice between my heavy breaths. Not long after, Nicholas opened the bathroom door and entered, a worried expression clearly visible on his face,
“Gosh, you look so pale,” he said as he approached. He held my arm to steady my limp body. “You can’t keep doing this, Sabrina. I’ll call the doctor.”
“No… don’t,” I muttered in a barely audible voice. “It’s probably just the effects of the chemotherapy. I just need to rest.”
“But you’re so weak,” he protested. He took a glass of water from the sink and handed it to me. “Drink this first.”
I took the glass with shaking hands, taking slow sips to ease the nausea. After a few moments, my body began to feel a little better. I took a deep breath, trying to calm myself.
