Nicholas’s POV

+25 BONUS

Hazel continued to stare at me, as if waiting for my response. Deep inside, I was determined to keep communication open, not just for Charlie’s sake, but to find a way out of this conflict. But at that moment, all I could do was nod, trying to process her words and think about the next steps

I sighed deeply, starting the engine without responding toer. The sound of the engine filled the silence in the car, but the tension still hung between us

This isn’t about you or Sabrina, Hazel,I finally said, my voice low but firm. This is about Charlie. I will always do what’s best for him, and that includes letting him see the people who make him happy.”

Hazel fell silent, but the expression on her face showed that she wasn’t entirely in agreement. I could feel the uncertainty surrounding the situation, but I knew I had to stick to my principles. Charlie deserved to feel love from everyone who cared for him, and that included Sabrina

I drove the car out of the school area, trying to calm myself as I thought about the next steps. Maybe there was a way to bridge our differences for Charlie’s sake

Hazel seemed eager to respond, but I had already pulled the car out of the school area. My head was filled with thoughts of Charlie, Sabrina, and all this chaos. I knew that sooner or later, I would have to make a firmer decision for everyone’s sake, especially Charlie

After a moment, I knew Hazel would speak up, and sure enough, after a few minutes of silence, she broke the silence with a cold tone

Nicholas, I’m not joking. If you keep introducing Charlie to Sabrina, I will take him away. Don’t think I can’t do it.”

Her words made me grip the steering wheel tighter, struggling to contain the anger that was starting to boil over The threat felt like fire igniting my emotions. I slowed the car, looking for a place to pull over. Once stopped at the roadside, I turned to face her

The atmosphere in the car felt heavy, and I could sense the tension between us. In that moment, I knew that the decision I was about to make was crucial, and I had to fight for what was best for Charlie, even if it meant facing a bigger conflict with Hazel

Hazel, enough,I said in a low voice but filled with pressure. You will not take Charlie away. I will not let that happen.”

She let out a small laugh, her tone sarcastic and piercing. You think I have no rights? I’m his mother. I can take care of Charlie without you.”

Her words left me momentarily speechless. Frustration and anger surged within me. This isn’t about rights, Hazel. It’s about what’s best for Charlie. He needs both of us, not conflict.”

Inside the car, the atmosphere grew tense. I knew we were on dangerous ground, and every word could worsen the situation. However, I was determined not to back down. Charlie needed to know that he was loved and supporte by both his parents, even though we had differing views

I glared at her, taking a deep breath before responding. Charlie isn’t just your child; he’s also mine. And I know

has taken care of what’s best for him. If you think you can separate him from me, especially from Sabrina who h him all this time, you’re sorely mistaken.”

Hazel’s face flushed, either from anger or shock at the firmness of my voice. So you prefer Sabrina over your own family? Have you forgotten who has always been there for Charlie while Sabrina was away?”

Sabrina never left of her own accord,I shot back sharply And this isn’t about choosing sides. It’s about Charlie, about what he needs. He needs happiness, Hazel, not disputes like this.”

My words hung in the air, and I could feel the tension rising Hazel seemed ready to argue, but I knew we didn’t reach an agreement If we continued this way

Charlie deserves love from everyone who cares about him, I continued, trying to emphasize the importance of togetherness. I won’t let our conflict disrupt his happine

The atmosphere in the car felt heavy, but I knew I had to stick to my principles for Charlie’s sake

Hazel fell silent for a moment, but I could see she was thinking of a sharper retort. Indeed, a few seconds later, she spoke again. We’ll see, Nicholas. If you keep forcing this, I will take Charlie away. And this time, I won’t tell you where we’re going.”

I shook my head slowly, my gaze locked on her. If you try that, I will take this matter to court. And you know, Hazel, I have enough evidence to show who truly deserves to keep Charlie.”

Her expression changed instantly, from one of confidence to doubt. I knew my words had struck at the heart of the matter. Hazel might be stubborn, but she also knew her limits

The atmosphere in the car shifted. The tension that had been boiling was replaced by a heavy silence. I could sense that even though she didn’t want to admit it, my threat made her think twice

So, what will you do?I asked, trying to keep my tone calm even though I was struggling inside. In that moment, I realized how important it was to protect Charlie, no matter how difficult the path ahead would be

Then prove it,Hazel finally said, her voice trembling with repressed emotions

I started the engine again and continued driving. Deep down, I knew this conversation wasn’t over. Hazel might not give up easily, but I wouldn’t back down either. For Charlie’s sake, for his happiness, I was ready to face whatever came next

As the car moved, thoughts whirled in my mind. Strategies and steps began to form. Although the situation was getting more complicated, I was determined to protect our child from unnecessary conflict. Charlie deserved happiness and love from everyone around him, and I would fight for that, no matter how challenging the journey ahead would be
