That support gave me an extra boost. I felt more confident at my plan could succeed. With a well–thought–out strategy and full attention to Charlie, I was determined to create a positive environment and strengthen our bond.
“Exactly, Mom. This isn’t just about winning Charlie’s hear. It’s about making sure Sabrina knows her place. She’s nobody. She’s just a stepmother trying to take something that isn’t hers.”
The strength of my statement gave me a renewed sense of purpose. I realized that my struggle was more than just building a relationship with Charlie; it was also about maintaining my position and role in his life.
With firm determination, I planned my next steps. Every interaction with Charlie would be filled with care, ensuring that he felt loved and safe while I kept my distance from Sabrina. In my mind, all of this was part of a larger strategy to protect what I loved.
Mrs. Rosa gently patted my shoulder, as if giving her blessing. “You’re right, Hazel. You have to do this perfectly. Don’t let Charlie see any other side of you. He must truly believe that you’re the best for him.”
Her words ignited my spirit. I took a deep breath, feeling more confident than ever. The plan I had envisioned was now clearer, and I was ready to execute it.
“Of course, Ma. I’ll make sure everything goes according to plan.” With strong resolve, I felt prepared to face the. challenges ahead, focusing on Charlie and building a relationship that would strengthen my place in his life.
Charlie approached us with a wide smile on his face. “Mommy, I’m ready!” he exclaimed, showing off his school bag strapped to his back.
“”That’s great, sweetheart,” I said, affectionately ruffling his hair. Seeing the joy on his face made my heart flutter. “Let’s head to school.”
We stepped outside, and in my heart, I was determined to keep this cheerful atmosphere. Every moment with him was an opportunity to show that I was the right person in his life.
I held his hand gently while Mrs. Rosa watched us with a meaningful smile. Deep down, I knew this was just the beginning. Every step I took was part of my plan to build closeness with Charlie.
But I would do everything to ensure that Charlie was completely on my side. Sabrina wouldn’t be able to take away what I had built. My determination grew stronger, and with every passing second, I committed to preserving our relationship and overcoming any challenge that lay ahead.
I held Charlie’s hand tightly as we arrived at his school that morning. His little uniform was neat, and he looked excited to see his friends playing in the playground. The joy on his face made me feel proud and happy.
As we walked together, I felt a positive energy flowing between us. This was a moment where I could show how much I cared for him, making him part of my days and ensuring that he felt seen and loved. With an ever–stronger resolve, I was ready to face whatever came next.
“Can I play first, Mommy?” Charlie asked enthusiastically.
Charlie ran toward the playground with uncontainable energy. A wide smile lit up his face as he joined his friends. Watching him play warmed my heart.
“Of course, sweetheart,” I replied with a gentle smile. “But be careful, okay? If anything happens, Mommy is right here.”
Charlie dashed off to join his friends who were playing on the slide, his face filled with joy. I took a seat on a bench near the playground, keeping my eyes on him.
Every laugh and shout of excitement from the group of children eased my mind, yet my vigilance remained high. I didn’t want anything to endanger my child. In my thoughts I continued planning my next steps to ensure his safety and strengthen our bond.
I stood near the fence of Charlie’s kindergarten playground watching him from a distance. He looked cheerful, playing with his friends on the swings and slides. That smile, his little laughter–everything warmed my heart. Seeing how happy he was with his friends made me feel satisfied, even proud. Moments like this reminded me of the importance of his happiness in life. I was determined to protect that happiness, ensuring he always felt loved and safe by my side.
But that happiness didn’t last long. From where I stood, I saw a boy push Charlie, causing him to fall from the slide. Charlie cried loudly, holding his scraped knee.
Panic surged through me, and I ran toward him, pushing through the crowd of children who began to whisper. Every step felt heavy, but I focused on one goal: to make sure Charlie was okay. When 1 finally reached him, my heart broke seeing him cry, and I immediately hugged him gently, trying to soothe him.
“Charlie! Sweetheart, what happened?” I asked, my voice filled with concern. I knelt before him, checking his knee, which was scraped quite badly.
“He… he pushed me, Mommy!” Charlie cried, pointing to a boy standing not far from us. The boy looked nervous but remained silent.
Seeing the wound on Charlie’s knee made me anxious. I tried to calm him while looking for a way to handle this situation wisely. In my heart, I was determined to teach Charlie about bravery and how to face conflicts.
My anger flared up immediately. I stood up and approached the boy with quick steps. “Hey, you! Why did you push my son?!” My voice rose, causing several teachers in the playground to turn their attention toward us.
The boy looked scared, but before he could respond, a woman who seemed to be his mother approached. “Excuse me, what’s going on?” she asked in a friendly tone, although her face looked tense.
Her presence added to the tension in the air. I stared at her trying to contain my emotions. In my heart, I hoped to resolve this issue without burdening the children further. With the teachers starting to gather, I knew this situation needed to be handled wisely to avoid disrupting the other kids playing.
