Chapter 24
Leora Pol
Exhausting. My whole body is sore and aching. For more than a week, I have been going back and forth from the mansion to the location of the hospital building that I will manage.
Grandpa Kent offered me a driver to take me and pick me up, but it has been a long time since I drove myself, so I felt so enthusiastic and decided to drive mysell.
Besides, my new car is very comfortable to drive. It was a gift fr Jayden. He said, he once promised himself after he started working, that he would give me a car if we meet again someday.
Jayden took me to a car showroom owned by Devon, his best friend since high school, who is known as a famous automotive entrepreneur and has several large showrooms.
Devon looked at me as if he wanted to strip me naked, when Jayden introduced me to him.
“Jay, are you serious? You have a twin sister? Since when?” Devon asked Jayden repeatedly.
I pretended not to hear their conversation and looked at the various types, brands, and colors of cars displayed in the showroom.
“It’s a long story. I’ll tell you later when we have the chance to meet at the club, Jayden replied.
Don’t tell me that you’re cheating on Grace and claiming that the beautiful woman is your twin sister so that no one will tell her about you cheating with that cutie?” Devon probed again. It seemed like he didn’t believe Jayden’s words.
Of course anyone
would find it hard to believe. It’s rare for someone to meet a twin sister again after more than twenty years, right? Besides, since we’re twins of different gender, our resemblance isn’t that obvious, so it’s only natural that Jayden would be suspicious.
I laughed inwardly. Jayden’s friend was quite funny and he also seemed very sociable and friendly.
“You’re crazy! Just tell her if you don’t believe me, I guarantee Grace will hit your head right away!” Jayden taunted.
“Jay, I like this car,” I said, pointing to a beautiful shiny black BMW X6 M.
“You’re very good at choosing, dear,” Devon said enthusiastically This is the latest model that is currently popular among dynamic young girls.”
I laughed in amusement. He was a salesman, of course he needed to be sweet–talking to prospective buyers.
However, I didn’t like his hungry eyes and his smile that I thought was too fake.
“Then this car is not suitable for me,” I said indifferently, passing by the car I liked.
“Hey, why,” Devon asked in surprise.
“Because you said the car is popular among young girls. I would feel embarrassed to drive it because I’m not young anymore and not a girl anymore,” I replied. I pulled Jayden’s hand. “Let’s see the others.”
Devon laughed awkwardly and let me look at his other car collection.
However, the BMW X6 had caught my attention from the start, so that’s what I ended up driving now.
“Are you going straight home, Ms. Leoral” said the project manager who happened to be walking with me to the parking lot.
Chapter 24
Ah, I happen to need to find something for grandpa, so Til stopy the mall first, I replied.
I drove to the mall that I passed on the way home to buy vitamins for grandpa Kent who had been feeling tingly in his legs lately.
After buying some good vitamins for grandpa Kent, I headed the supermarket. I thought the fruit supply in the mansion’s refrigerator was running low, so I grabbed a trolley and started shopping
While I was choosing grapes, a tap on my shoulder made me jump and turn around.
Moira smiled at me sweetly. “Leo, it’s really you said my ex–mother–in–law happily. “I thought I had the wrong person carlier.”
She waved to another woman nearby and when the woman approached, she quickly grabbed my hand, before I could get away from her.
“Elsie, what a coincidence, you should meet my daughter–in–law Moira said excitedly to the other woman. “Moira, this is Elsie, my best friend.
My eyebrows rose. This was a really awkward situation for me. There was no way I was going to be cold and rude to the middle–aged woman who was staring at me in awe and her small hand outstretched to me.
“Oh, you’re so beautiful, Ms. Leora,” the woman named Elsie said. “But, uh, I thought you had another name. What was it. I forgot, you said a more common name then.”
“Lizzy?” I said, glancing at Moira.
Moira took over the conversation and with a domineering attitude she pulled my hand and thrust her trolley into Elsie’s
hands.
“Elsie, shouldn’t you be looking for the soap your son ordered? Go look for it in aisle 18. I’ll have a quick word with my daughter–in–law in the cafe,” Moira said.
Elsie waved at me and walked away. I shook off Moira’s hand that was still holding mine. Not roughly, but I still think she realized that I didn’t like being held by her.
“Why did you introduce me as your daughter–in–law to your friend, Moira?” I asked in annoyance. “When I was really your daughter–in–law, you were even embarrassed to walk side by side with me in the supermarket? I heard you even told Eva’s friend that I was a maid in your house.”
Moira grabbed my hand again and held it tightly, making me feel awkward because several pairs of eyes seemed to be watching us.
“Come on, Leora, don’t hold a grudge like that, Moira said gently
It was a tone I had never heard from her when talking to me, when I was still her daughter–in–law
mother–in-
“I apologize for everything that has happened between us, but can we just be on good terms now? At least we also lived together for several years and even though we didn’t get along, you were still my daughter–in–law and I was your law at that time.”
I pulled my hand away from Moira’s grip. My emotions were almost boiling over now. This really didn’t make sense. I don’t know what she wanted to do because she acted so strangely.
It seems like I now have a phobia of anything related to Peter and his family, because suddenly I felt my whole body feel cold and my heartbeat doubled. Seeing Moira’s sweet smiling face, her soft voice, and her grip on my skin made me feel
nauseous,
“What do you want, Moira? I don’t have time to deal with your rotten small talk. You’ve never been nice to me while I was

Chapter 21
Peter’s wife, but why are you acting so over the top now? I said ispiciously,
“Ah, you make me so sad,” Moira said with a gloomy face. “I just wanted to say hello because we haven’t seen each other for a long time and I don’t think your divorce from Peter is a reason make us strangers to each other. I’m facing some problems right now and feel a little lonely because I don’t have anyone to talk to, so I felt really happy when I saw you
carlier.”
Tsk! How annoying. I think she really wanted to play a prank one by holding me back like this. I looked at my watch and gripped the trolley handle.
“Sorry, Moira, I have to go. My grandfather must be waiting, I sl curtly. “I think you should just tell Elsie what’s on your mind. After all, she’s your best friend, right?”
Moira’s face was gloomy and she tried to hold the trolley handle so that I wouldn’t leave, but for some reason, she suddenly fell right under my feet, with a loud enough sound that made me startled and the people around me all turned to look at us
“Oh, Ma’am, are you okay?” asked a minimarket employee who was arranging drinks on the shelf closest to where Moira and I had previously been standing.
Moira cried while rubbing her bruised arm. She looked up at me and her face was so pitiful,
“Oh, Leora, why were you so cruel to push me like that? I just wanted to talk to you.”
Moira’s loud voice attracted everyone’s attention and made them look at us. They whispered while pointing at me and the mini market clerk looked at me with a sharp gaze.
Miss, you shouldn’t be rude to this lovely lady, the mini market clerk snapped.
I was at a loss for words and when my eyes met Moira’s, I could see the corner of her lips forming a smirk.
Then, she started screaming in pain, when the mini market clerk touched her hand.
“Aah, it hurts so much! I think my hand is broken!”
