I visited the hospital that Noah mentioned on the phone, to visit the worker who fell and was being treated at the hospital.
I tried to remember whether the entire hospital building we renovation was protected by safety, usually using blue steel nets to cover the walls of the entire building area being worked on al as far as I could remember everything was safe.
Likewise, regarding safety equipment for workers, especially in high areas, I think everything is complete and guaranteed. Why did accidents like that still happen?
When I arrived at St. Patrick, I immediately looked for Noali. My new friend, Damian, accompanied me.
Previously, I had refused his offer to drive me, but he insisted.
“But, aren’t you still working?” I asked confusedly. “Is it okay, just leaving your job like that?”
Damian looked awkward hearing my question. “Umm, actually, that supermarket is uh, owned by, err… My family.”
I was stunned. The supermarket was one of the largest and most complete in the city and Damian’s family was the owner.
“But, aren’t you a manager there?” I asked again.
He chuckled and scratched his head with an embarrassed look on his face. “Yes, actually, my mother asked me to work there. because she thought I played too much.”
I couldn’t help but laugh too and finally accepted his offer to accompany me to this hospital.
In front of the hospital room that I had previously asked the nurse in the emergency room lobby who said that the person whose name I mentioned had been treated and moved to the room, I saw Noah standing with an annoyed expression.
“Noah, how is Mr. Greg?” I asked, mentioning the name of the worker who fell.
Noah didn’t answer immediately. He stares at Damian who was sanding behind me and I could feel his gaze looking very cold and his attitude stiff. I think he was not happy with Damian’s presence
“His right leg is broken, but the doctor said it’s a clean break so he won’t need major surgery. The doctor has already fixed it and he’ll recover in two months, with medication and regular therapy,” Noah replied in a formal tone.
“Ah, thank goodness, I murmured in relief. I turned around. “Noah, this is my friend, Damian. We were having coffee together when you called. We’ve been in the same school since elementary school and just met again now.”
Noah raised an eyebrow, seemingly not believing my answer. I could feel the tension between us, with Noah’s stiff and distant attitude.
“A school friend?” he repeated in a suspicious tone. “Why did he have to come?”
I took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. ‘Damian just wanted to keep me company”
Damian seemed to realize that Noah’s attitude was unfriendly. He extended his hand to Noah
“Hi. I’m Damian Carter. I just happened to be with Leora and I wanted to accompany her because I saw she was nervous when she heard the news from you. I was worried she would drive recklessly if she was alone,” Damian said kindly.
“This is Noah, my uncle,” I said introducing Noah because I saw no sign that Noah would tell Damian his name.
“Uncle?” Damian’s eyebrows raised.

“Hm,” I replied. I turned to Noah whose face was getting cloudic I was confused as to why he was acting like that. “So. has Mr. Greg’s family been informed?”
“His wife lives out of town and it will take some time for her to get here, so I will look after him tonight, in case she comes around in the morning. Noah answered straightforwardly. “I have taken care of all the hospital, insurance, and compensation for his wife.”
“Then, I will accompany you to guard here.” 1 said spontaneousl
I turned to Damian and he nodded with a smile. “Then I will go back to the supermarket.”
“Thank you for keeping me company, Damian,” I said.

“Just call me if you need someone to keep you company, whether it’s just for coffee or anything,” Damian said. He patted my shoulder. “It was nice meeting you, Leora. I hope we can keep in touch after this.”
“Sure, Damian,” I said quickly. “Thanks again and be safe on the way.”
Damian nodded to Noah and waved me goodbye as he walked away.
Noah snorted and turned around, walking into the room where Mr. Greg was being treated. He didn’t say anything to me and went straight to the couch in the corner of the room. His laptop was on the table.
I approached the bed where Mr. Greg was lying. His eyes were closed and his breathing was steady. He must have been under the influence of the drugs.
Straightened the blanket, then approached Noah on the couch and sat down next to him. He seemed to be busy working on something. He didn’t pay any attention to me at all.
“Noah, is something wrong?” I asked carefully. Did something else happen on the project that I missed?”
He stopped typing on his laptop and sighed. I felt a little bad because he must have been busy taking care of all the details about Mr. Greg’s accident, and I only came after everything was done.
Noah checked the laptop and closed it, then changed his sitting position to face me.
“Who is he? Damian Carter? Noah asked in a sharp tone.
I was surprised because I didn’t expect him to ask something like that.
“Damian? He’s my friend. Actually, I just found out that we went to the same elementary school,” I replied in a light tone. “He helped me earlier, at the supermarket.
This time, Noah’s face changed a little to a softer one. “What happened? Why are you at the supermarket?”
“I was going to buy some fruits for my grandpa before I went home from the project,” I said as I took my phone out of my bag. “D*mn, I ran into Moira instead.”
“Your ex–in–law?” Noah asked with a worried face. “What did she do to you?”
I didn’t answer, but just replayed the CCTV footage that Damian had sent to my phone earlier and showell it to Noah. Noah’s face became even more cloudy when he saw the scene in the footage.
“I think it’s time we teach them a real lesson, Leo, Noah said with an annoyed hiss. “They always find trouble with you.”
I turned off the phone and put it back in my bag. “Just let it be, as long as I can still handle it, it doesn’t matter. I think the might be trying to test my patience. They must be dissatisfied because their estimates were way off”

“They hope you suffer after divorcing Peter and regret your decalon to ask for a divorce from him” Noah muttered
“That’s what I thought. The fact that I am live a better life bother them. Just let it be I replied calmly
I’m not afraid of them. After all, I’ll serve them if they bother me I still have something that will really make them in chaos when I think they’ve gone too far and I can’t handle it.
“Also, when Damian and I were drinking coffee at a cafe near the hospital, Peter and Lizzy came and made fun of me.” I said with a smirk. “I think Lizzy was jealous because Peter tried to bother me, so she ran and fell. She was bleeding and Peter took her to the hospital”
Noah shook his head. “I can’t believe how a smart guy like Peter, whose work at the office is always satisfying and makes him get lots of compliments, is actually stupid in his daily life”
I shrugged, not really caring about the fact that Noah revealed. guess back then, my love for Peter really made me blind and didn’t see his true personality.
“Damian offered to accompany me here because I think he saw that I was shocked and nervous.” I continued. I grabbed a magazine from under the table and opened a random page.
But, Noah took the magazine from my hand. I turned my head in surprise and looked at him
“Hm?” I was confused
“Why did you tell him that I’m your uncle?” Noah asked coldly.
winced, feeling that he was holding my hand too tightly.
“Is that wrong? You are my uncle, literally, because my grandfather acknowledged you as his son, right? That means, your position, is the same as my father, right? And since you’re younger than my father, it’s clear that you’re my uncle,” I said carefully
I felt Noah was acting strange since earlier and even stranger because of the problem of me introducing him which turned out to upset him?
“But, we’re not related at all! Noah hissed.
I looked at him in annoyance. “You’ve known Jeremiah longer than I have and it’s clear that grandfather loves you like his own son, so where’s the harm in me calling you my uncle?”
Unexpectedly. Noah pulled my hand so that I leaned towards him and before I could do anything, he grabbed my chin and landed his lips on mine.
God! Noah kissed me?
