Chapter 29
I need to talk to Leora, Peter said in an irritated tone.
He saw Noah still holding my hand and his brow furrowed. I returned to Noah’s side, not trying to remove his hand from mine at all. Let Peter see it, what harm would it do him to see me being held by another man.
“No way,” Noah said in a cold tone. “Anything related to you and your family, Peter, always causes problems and that’s why I added a special protection clause for Leora not to have anything to do with you guys without a lawyer and it just so happens. that her lawyer is me!”
Peter was clearly angry, but he tried to control himself. He turned his gaze to me.
“Leora, please, I need to talk to you. This is very important, Peter said in a low tone.
I raised my eyebrows in an indifferent manner. Important to who? You or me?”
Peter took a deep breath. “It’s about… What you said to me when we met at the hospital.”
I smirked. So, he thought about what I said. I could see the dark circles under his eyes and bags.
Peter always had eyes like that when he had a lot on his mind. When I was still his wife. I always prepared two cold tea bags to compress his eyes before going to bed so that he would look better when he woke up in the morning.
Looking at how dark the color under his eyes was now, I was sure that Lizzy
dn’t care about him.
Noah squeezed my hand. “Do you want to talk to him?”
I thought for a moment, then nodded. “I think that’s okay”
I pulled Noah’s hand away from Peter and put my lips close to Noah’s ear to whisper. Tll turn on the recording device on my phone, just in case. How about it?”
Noah looked at me, then unexpectedly, he raised his hand and stroked my hair gently while nodding. “Okay. I’ll check on the workers one more time and then, when I come back. I hope he’s gone.”
I smiled and nodded. Noah then left and I walked towards Peter,
“What do you want to talk about? Noah doesn’t give me much time to talk, so make it quick.”
“Can we talk over there?” Peter asked, pointing to a chair in the garden area in front of the hospital. “It’s not nice to talk while standing.”
I didn’t answer and just walked in the direction Peter pointed and sat on one of the wooden chairs. Peter sat not far from me. “What’s wrong?” I asked as soon as he sat down. I didn’t want to linger with him and there was no need for small talk,
“Are you really dating Noah?” Peter asked with a raised eyebrow “Since when?”
“Peter, I think that’s one of the things you shouldn’t ask me,” I replied seriously. “You have no right to ask ine anything about my life after our divorce.”
Peter looked annoyed. “Did you and Noah know each other when we were still together? Or… were you and him dating before we got divorced? Is that why he’s so eager to take care of our divorce?”
I just stared at him without blinking. Luckily, I had turned on the recording device on my phone before I sat down.
“You know, Peter. I’m not someone who likes to cheat. Even if I wanted to, when would I do it and how?” I said calmly.

Chapter 29
I don’t have money to go out to beautify myself, because you made your mother and sister manage all your money after they moved in with us. I don’t have access to social media because you gave me an old model cell phone that would run out of memory with just one photo of my cooking. I also can’t go anywhere because I don’t have a vehicle or money to even order an online taxi.
Peter’s face turned bright red. It seemed like he realized the truth of my words,
“How could I cheat on you in such a situation? Do you think Noth came to our house and we made out at home while you were away at work? Is that possible, because you installed CCTV Cameras everywhere and even your two best CCTV cameras, your mother and sister, are much sharper in monitoring me. Oh, Peter, don’t be unreasonable!”
“Sorry,” Peter muttered. “It turns out that my actions hurt you that deeply.”
“No need to apologize. I should be thanking you because by bringing Lizzy home and showing affection in front of me, you have given me a quicker awareness, that all this time I have been a fool under your status as a husband. In fact, you are not at all worthy of my love and affection. You are just heartless and maybe, brainless under Lizzy, you mother dan sister’s spellas.”
“Your words are very rude, Leo,” Peter muttered. He became annoyed again because his tone of voice was a little high.
“Rude? Rude is when your mother slanders me for wasting your money, even though I went hungry all day because your mother and sister bought expensive bags and shoes with that money, and you even slapped me when you complained about them,” I snapped angrily.
“Rude is when you forgot about our wedding day because you were too busy preparing Lizzy’s birthday party and you told me to take a beautiful birthday cake for her. Then during the party, you threw away the cake and bought a new oge because you
aid I deliberately made the cake too sweet so that Lizzy would
fat
Here, I laughed out loud, remembering the incident I mentioned earlier. It sounds ridiculous now, but when it happened back then, my heart broke into pieces.
“Rude is when you compare me to Lizzy who always dresses beautifully and expensively, with perfect hair and make–up question why I can’t be like Lizzy when I’m just an unemployed person who stays at home and is only busy spending your
and
money,”
“That rudeness is–”
“Enough, enough, Leora, Peter cut me off hastily. Of course. He must have been reluctant to hear me reveal his bad side so clearly. I’m sorry for all that, but, you should have told me what your objections were at that time. You were always closed and kept all your problems to yourself so I didn’t know what was in your heart”
I snorted and laughed sarcastically. “And get beaten to death by you because you think I made up stories, tried to slander your mother and sister, and were mean and jealous of Lizzy!
I stood up. “I don’t understand why you came to see me. But if it’s just to question my relationship with Noah and then investigate my life now, you better leave. I don’t have time for you. Even if I had time, I’d rather sell my time to the devil than just talk nonsense with you.”
I got up to leave, but Peter grabbed my hand and held me back
“Let go, Peter, or I’ll scream. There are many workers here and I’m sure they won’t hesitate to beat you up if I say that you tried to harass me,” I said firmly while staring at my hand that was in his grip.
Peter let go of my hand and raised both of his hands. “Okay, Learn, I’m sorry, but please don’t go yet. I still need to talk.”
1 looked at the watch on my wrist impatiently. “Hurry up!”
“What did you say at the hospital, about Lizzy and the baby in her womb. What did you mean?” Peter asked carefully
I laughed inwardly, hearing the fear in his voice. I guess it would be funny if I played with him a little.

“Hmm? What did I say? Tasked in a light tone.
“Lizzy’s baby… You told me to check, Peter said awkwardly. “What did you mean?”
“Oh that,” I replied casually. “Nothing. I was just concerned about izzy’s condition and wanted to show a little sympathy. I don’t think pregnancy suits her, because she looks disheveled after being pregnant.”
Peter’s eyebrows rose and he stood up. His gaze was sharp and put both his hands on his hips.
“What? You just want to play with me, right? You must have bad thoughts in your head about Lizzy and are trying to provoke me into a fight with Lizzy? Peter snapped.
“Hm? Why do you have to fight? Or… Because of what I said, you who have strange thoughts about her pregnancy? Have you been suspecting something all this time and feel that your suspicions might be true, because of what I said?” I asked while playing with my eyebrows.
Peter raised his hand, maybe he wanted to slap me, but I immediately took out my phone and pointed the camera at him.
“Just do it. Want to slap me?”
He was surprised and lowered his hand slowly. I grabbed his collar.
“Don’t play with me now, Peter. I’m no longer the stupid woman you treated like a pet. That Leora is dead and now, you can’t even imagine what I can do to repay you.”
the Leora
I let go of his collar and pushed him hard, until he staggered and his back knee hit the side of the chair. Peter grimaced but his gaze was full of anger.
I smirked sarcastically. “Be careful, Peter. I know your secret and will reveal it when I feel it’s time. At that time, be sure that your life will not be as beautiful as the one you are living in now!
“What do you mean? What secret?” Peter snapped.
I ignored him and walked away from him. Noah emerged from inside the hospital building as I approached.
I took Noah’s hand. “Let’s find a restaurant that serves good food I think I’m starting to like arguing with Peter because it increases my appetite.”
Noah’s eyebrows raised. “Hm?”
