Chapter 30

I will never forget what Leora said that night, when we fought in the hospital.
It bothered me. Why did she tell me to check Lizzy’s pregnancy It was clear that she was pregnant with my child, which she could never give me.
Curiosity made me dare to go to her to ask. I deliberately followell her for three days, because I couldn’t possibly ask what she was doing or where she usually went so that I could approach her.
I didn’t know what Leora was working on, but she always came to the hospital building that was being renovated and stayed there for a long time.
When I saw her coming with Noah, my ex–lawyer, I thought maybe Leora was trying to work as Noah’s assistant in his office. She might be trying to improve her quality so that she wouldn’t lose to me.
After the divorce, I’m sure she also wanted to maintain her prestige, especially now that she was part of Jeremiah’s family.
That reality hit me hard. If only I had known that she was Jeremiah’s family, of course I wouldn’t have divorced Leora. Even though I don’t really love her, I will still stick with her.
But I don’t want to regret it for too long. Besides, I will soon become the CEO of Lizzy’s family company as she promised me, after our child is born.
Still, I finally went to Leora at the hospital that was being renovated and found out that she and Noah were dating each other.
What a b*tch. Who knew, that before officially divorcing me, she had also started flirting with that lawyer. Even though 1 know that Noah is the adopted child of Kent Jeremiah, Leora’s grandfather, it still doesn’t rule out the possibility that they like each other.
Instead of getting an answer to my question about Leora’s words at that time, she instead beat me up with her sharp sentences. How annoying!
“Baby, I want to change the decoration of this room, Lizzy said, interrupting my daydream.
I turned to her and saw that she was already dressed up beautifully, with a beautiful dress, branded bag and shoes, complete accessories and full make up.
“Where are you going? Do we have any plans today?” I asked, remembering.
It was Sunday and as far as I could remember, we didn’t have any plans. Besides, I was also feeling tired and wanted to rest, relax at home, laze around and cuddle with Lizzy, while my mother and sister were away at one of my aunts‘ houses and staying over there.
“Did you hear what I said?” Lizzy asked back. “I said, I want to change the decoration of this room.”
“Yes, I heard you,” I replied, standing up. “Why so suddenly?”
Lizzy took a piece of paper, it looked like a torn piece of magazine. Her face was sullen.
“I want our room to be changed to look like this,” she said, pushing the paper into my hand.
“What is this?” I asked, looking at the crumpled paper. It was clear that Lizzy had crumpled the paper before.
Inside the paper was a picture of a very nice room. The room was in shades of light brown, cream, and a touch of pale sage

green. from the walls, the minimalist furniture, to the curtains
The room was luxurious, elegant, and spacious. I read the title of the article.
“Peeking into the room of a long–lost princess. A comfortable, elegant nuance, makes the owner of the root feel at home in it all day. Dream come true, said the princess,”
I skimmed the contents of the article and immediately found the reason why Lizzy was so upset.
The interior article highlighted Leota’s room and briefly described her life after becoming part of jeremiah’s family.
I swallowed hard. How beautiful Leora’s room was now. I didn’t dare to imagine what kind of life she had now. Of course far beyond the life she lived with me before, even though I wasn’t poor, you could even say I was quite rich.
“Lizzy, why do you have to be the same as Leora? You have your own special qualities that I like. That’s why I chose you, not Leora. I coaxed softly while taking her hand.
Lizzy slapped my hand away roughly. “Why? You just want to distract me so that I don’t realize that you can’t afford such
luxuries?”
I became annoyed. Why was Lizzy so rude and demanding like this?
You’re being unreasonable, Lizzy, I gave you everything you wanted and obeyed you, but why are you comparing yourself to her? Are you jealous of her?” I asked sarcastically.
Yes, of course I’m jealous. You’re planning to approach her again, right? You even approached her secretly and didn’t tell me. anything about it!” Lizzy snapped.
“W–what?”
Lizzy laughed sarcastically and took out her phone and showed me a photo. It was a photo taken from a distance, showing me and Leora sitting on a park bench in front of the hospital building that was being renovated.

“Lizzy, are you spying on me?” I asked, feeling irritated by what Lizzy did. Did she order someone to follow me?
“No, Lizzy denied loudly. “It was just a coincidence. A friend of mine passed by nearby and she recognized you.”
D’mn!
I held Lizzy’s hand tightly and didn’t let go even if she struggled a little.
“Lizzy, honey, listen,” I said softly. “It’s not what you think. I’m meeting Leora, because there’s something important I need to
ask her.”
“What important thing, Lizzy pressed sharply. “You’ve been divorced for a long time, there’s no joint property to fight over and no children to support together. So, what’s so important about asking her again?”
I was at a loss. There was no way I could tell the truth. That would start a third world war here and it would definitely hurt Lizzy a lot.
“I just need to ask Leora why she’s always trying to mess with us. I answered, lying to be safe. “Mom alreally complained to
that Leora was bothering her at the supermarket, and then you. I’m afraid she’ll get worse if I don’t warn her”
me
Lizzy’s eyebrows rose. She was suspicious, but her anger seemed to be starting to subside. “Are you sure you’re just talking
about that?”
“Of course, I replied. “What else do I need to talk to her about? I need to get her away from us because I don’t want to have anything to do with her anymore. Besides, you’re pregnant with our child now, I don’t want anything to happen to you. because of her.

Lizzy smiled faintly. Okay, that’s what you say, I believe you. But, from now on, don’t see her again without me. She’s a dangerous woman. She pretends to be kind and innocent, but she’s actually evil and cunning. Don’t let yourself be tempted by her charms and think about going back to her!”
I hugged Lizzy and stroked her hair. “Of course not, Lizzy, I only love you and our future child.
Lizzy returned my hug, but when I tried to kiss her, she shied as
“Uh, no, my powder will run,” she said as she pulled away. “I have to go soon. My friends are waiting
“Baby, it’s Sunday and 1 didn’t make any plans because I wanted to be alone with you,” I said in an annoyed tone. “Mom and Eva aren’t home, why do you want to go anyway!
“Tsk! I promised my friends, Lizzy replied as she walked out. “You just rest. Oh, don’t forget, I still want to change the decoration of our house like the pictures in the magazine!”
I was stunned to see Lizzy come out of the house. She didn’t care about me at all. What the heck.
I plopped down on the couch and turned on the television, to overcome my boredom. A Netflix horror movie had just come out when I heard the phone ring.
It wasn’t my phone. I looked for where the call came from and saw that Lizzy had left her phone on the dining table. She must have forgotten to bring it.
Just as I was about to pick it up, the call ended and a message notification appeared.
Baby, where are you? I’ve already made a reservation. Come quickly. I really miss you!”
