I looked at Noah Ken Ryler, the lawyer who handled my divorce from Peter. He helped me when Peter tried to hurt me because I insisted on not wanting to apologize to Lizzy.
Why is he here? Wasn’t he part of Peter’s legal team?
“Noah is my adopted son, honey,” said Grandpa Kent, when he saw my confusion.
“I took Noah when he was five years old and you had just been born. Noah is the youngest grandson of my best friend since childhood and most of his family died in a plane crash while they were on a family trip” said Grandpa Kent. “My best friend himself, before his last breath, entrusted Noah to me.”
I looked at Noah who was smiling at me. So far, I never knew anything about Peter’s work or anything related to his affairs outside of family matters, so I only found out that he had a personal team of lawyers and recognized Noah as one of them, when I was getting divorced.
Because Noah turned out to be a spy sent by my grandfather to guard me in the Peter family, that’s why he said things that at that time I thought were quite strange.
“You should have divorced a man like Peter a long time ago,” is what I remember Noah saying, when he walked me to the car after Peter tried to hit me.
“I don’t understand, I muttered. “I thought all this time I was really alone in this world.”
Noah smiled gently and said nothing. Grandpa Kent led lunch and I ate feeling like I was suffocating from feelings of amazement and astonishment that had yet to be finished.
“So, honey, you have to move and live here from now on,” said Grandpa Kent after lunch was finished and we enjoyed dessert. This is your home.”
“That’s right, Leo, after all, you’re still staying at your friend’s house right now, right?” Jayden said lightly. “I heard you are also looking for work.”
1 blushed. “Yes. I have a diploma as a professional nurse and my friend, Cathy, she works at a large printing company that has a special clinic for its employees, so I plan to work there,”
“Let’s invite your best friend tonight. I need to give her a gift because she has been looking after you all this time. She’s a good friend, right?” said Grandpa Kent.
I nodded happily. I haven’t said anything about all this to Cathy, so I think she’ll be very surprised too.
“Noah, what about the divorce documents, are they finished?” Jayden asked.
“It’s settled, Jayden. Leora will get the file the day after tomorrow, after the judge approves it,” answered Noah. He looked at me with a frown. “And that bastard really did what he said, Leo. He gave you absolutely nothing.”
I smiled faintly. “Just leave it alone. Even if I were nothing like I’ve always thought, I wouldn’t be willing to accept anything from him either.
Noah nodded. “I know that. I just feel it’s unfair. I’ve asked him to consider his decision, but he avoided it on the grounds that there are no children between you so he doesn’t need to support anyone.”
“That bastard!” Jayden hissed as he pounded the table lightly. “We have to teach him a lesson, grandfather. He’s completely ungrateful.”
Grandpa Kent chuckled and nodded. “Just let him be,” he said calmly. “As long as he doesn’t bother my granddaughter again, just let him be

Jayden snorted in annoyance He turned to Noah. And you, hr, when are you going to resign from that group of opportunists?

“Let me finish Leora’s business first,” said Noah cheerfully. “I think there’s a lot of other things I need to do on that team too. They’re too neat, and I don’t mind making them a little messy.
I don’t understand what they are talking about, but I’m sure they are all defending my interests.
“Leo, is there something you want to do to that hastard?” Jayden asked in an annoyed tone. “Til help you do it”
“I need to get my books that are still at Peter’s house,” I said. “These are the books I used in college and I want to pick them up again to study more.”
“Why not just buy a new one?” asked Grandpa Kent in surprise.
“Mom Marry bought those books for my studies. She once did even sleep for days to knit blankets which she then sold to buy the books.” I answered softly.
“Then let’s take it,” said Jayden excitedly. “Let’s show them who you really are.”
“Grandpa, Jayden, can I talk to Noah alone for a moment? I have a lot to ask, I said asking for permission.
“Of course,” answered Grandpa Kent. “I think Noah also needs to explain some things to you.”
Noah took me to the back garden, to a large gazebo set above a pond full of beautiful and colorful koi fish.
What do you want to ask?” Noah asked while holding out a pillow for me to lean on comfortably.
“Grandfather sent you as a spy for me?” I asked in a hurry. I was a little confused about where to start, so I just asked what came to mind first.
“Actually, I was the one who suggested it. When we finally got information about you, I was going to open my own law firm. Jayden said he would send Denzel to work as a servant at Peter’s house, but I felt that wasn’t right. Denzel didn’t have the appearance of a servant, right?” said Noah while laughing.
I couldn’t help but laugh, because to me too, Denzel definitely looked like a reliable bodyguard rather than a waiter.
“Apart from that, actually, before planning to open a law firm, I had an internship at a company and that company collaborated with the company where Peter worked. I discovered several irregularities in transactions from that collaboration, but the case was not extended because the other party was the son of the company owner, continued Noah.
“So you knew Peter before you knew I was part of this family?” asked in surprise.
“Yes. Then when I found out he was your husband, I decided to monitor him more closely. I joined the team of lawyers he had just formed after accepting the position as deputy CEO at the company,” said Noah with an annoyed expression.
“Why? You think he’s not a good man?” I asked.
“This is an instinct that has helped me a lot in starting my career so far. I recognize Peter as an intelligent and hardworking man, but I also feel that he is not that clean,” said Noah firmly Then, not long after he bought the house, he started seeing his ex–girlfriend, Lizzy, again.”
“You know about that too? my eyes widen.
“Sure. Not just me, but everyone on the team. I was waiting for the right moment to tell you, bringing evidence about Lizz and our family, too, but before I did that, you noticed it yourself said Noah in a satisfied tone.
“Actually, ever since Peter bought the house and brought his mother and sister to live in the house, I’ve felt unhappy. They are evil and they also hate me,” I said quietly, remembering how Peter’s mother and sister treated me.

“You can revenge now, Noah said lightly. “You have everything nd they are absolutely nothing”
I shrugged. I think I might take Grandpa Kent’s steps. As long as they don’t bother me, then just let them be. The episode of my life with them is over.
I’m glad you finally got away from that toxic man, Leora. He doesn’t deserve you, Noah said softly.
I took a breath and nodded slowly. “I think, after taking the books in the house, I will really close the pages of my life with them.”
“I’m glad you think so, and I hope Peter will think the same as you,” said Noah. His lips curved into a mysterious smile.
1 looked at him questioningly.
