Chapter 10
Ten minutes later, Ethan escorted Madison to a smaller boat heading toward the shore.
The sea breeze blew through my hair, carrying his voice back to me.
“Olivia, I’ll be waiting for you at home.”
I could only laugh bitterly.
However, in the next second, the kidnapper efficiently cut the rope suspending me.
The sensation of free–falling overtook me as I plunged into the ocean, immediately swallowed by the dark waters.
“No! Olivia!” A tortured scream echoed across the water’s surface.
But I had already swum over 300 feet away.
The girl who once fainted at the mere sight of water could now navigate the open sea with ease.
But my strength was limited, and the endless ocean became increasingly oppressive.
Desperately searching for something to keep me afloat, I felt arms encircle my waist.
I turned to see my rescuer, allowing him to bring me to the surface and onto his boat.
I lay on my back, gasping for air, unconcerned about my bedraggled appearance.
“You okay, beautiful?” Jackson handed me a bottle of water.
I glared at him, irritated. “Was this all your idea?”
He gently tucked my wet hair behind my ear.
“I was afraid you’d soften again and fall for that bastard’s tricks. This was the only way to make you see him clearly.”
I turned to look at the turbulent sea.
“I was already over him.”
Ethan was right about one thing–every underground operation in New York answered to me. No one would dare kidnap me.
Except for Jackson.
He was the most disobedient… pet I’d ever kept.
I found him in the rain the night of Ethan’s first affair. The teenager was covered in bruises, his clothes in tatters. In a moment of compassion, I took him in.

Chapter 10
During Ethan’s second affair, when that woman insulted me, Jackson cut out her tongue before I could even react.
From then on, anyone who disrespected me mysteriously suffered.
Now, the once–scrawny teenager had grown into a lean, muscular man exuding raw masculinity.
Somehow, the way he looked at me had transformed from grateful to hungry and possessive.
In those moments when our eyes met, I sometimes found it difficult to maintain my composure.
From that day, Ethan had people search the ocean for three days but found no trace of me.
His parents urged him to accept that I was gone.
He went berserk, destroying everything in our home.
Madison cautiously approached to comfort him.
“Ethan, please don’t be sad. I’ll always be here for you.”
“You can pretend I’m Olivia if you want. I don’t mind.”
Ethan turned to her, his eyes bloodshot.
“Pretend? Are you wishing Olivia dead?”
“This is all your fault. Why couldn’t it have been you who fell into the ocean?”
Madison pressed herself against the wall, her legs trembling violently, her voice breaking.
“Ethan, you’re scaring me. Don’t forget–you chose me.”
“When our baby is born, everything will be better.”
Ethan’s hand moved across her stomach, his smile chilling.
“With Olivia gone, what’s the point of this child?”
He suddenly grabbed a shard from a broken vase and plunged it into Madison’s abdomen.
Her screams echoed through the house as blood pooled around her.
