With a mocking sneer, Oliver’s voice took on a menacing tone. “You seem so devoted to your grandma. Surely you wouldn’t want her to suffer just because you can’t settle the hospital bills, right?”
“Exactly, Elizabeth. Don’t let your pride get in the way,” Cindy added, stepping a little closer to lend her words more weight. “Listen, we’ve come with promising news. Nate’s ready to cover the hospital fees. His uncle isn’t just any doctor—he’s a distinguished practitioner of traditional medicine and he’s offered to look after Gracie. This could be a lifeline. Don’t just dismiss it outright.”
Elizabeth grasped their true intentions immediately. They had come fully prepared.
