Elizabeth jerked her arm free from Elijah’s grasp, her eyes flashing as she warned, “Mind your language. This is my business partner, and we are here strictly for professional reasons.”
She cast a pointed look at Sandra, who had trailed in behind Elijah, and added with a loaded tone, “Unlike you two.”
Though she aimed for sarcasm, Elizabeth’s voice betrayed a touch of bitterness, as if tinged with envy.
She had been making a concerted effort to keep her distance from Elijah, yet somehow, she and this duo always seemed to be in the same place at the same time. It was almost as if fate enjoyed mocking her attempts to avoid them.
No surprise, then, that Elijah and Sandra were the darlings of the online world.

Sandra, who had been quietly observing their exchange, struggled to keep her smile intact.
She had noticed how Elijah’s gaze had lingered on Elizabeth ever since he walked into the room.
While Elijah remained indifferent to Sandra’s interactions with other men, the sight of Elizabeth chatting amiably with another man clearly ruffled him.
