Chapter 57
I was being a handful the entire trip. Jonathan didn’t get a break at all.
The car pulled up at the Ford residence. After getting out of it, he opened the door and picked me up
without a word, walking onward with a cold look. “Let go. Put me down.”
I kicked my legs like crazy, but he stayed stone–cold and unbothered.
Hugh and the housekeepers came up to greet us, but when they noticed Jonathan’s icy demeanor, they
backed away without saying a word.
I scratched at his face wildly, but he just tilted his head and avoided it. My nails caught his neck, leaving a sharp red mark.
I had been struggling as he carried me, feeling worn out. But I still refused to give in.
Jonathan walked into the bedroom without sparing me a glance. “Let’s see how long you can keep this up.
With a loud bang, the door slammed shut, and he tossed me straight onto the bed. I glared at him in fury
and started to get up, but he pushed me right back down by the shoulders.
I shouted, “What do you want, Jonathan? Let me go!”
Jonathan raised my chin and said, “You really don’t know what I’m about to do? Since talking doesn’t work, I’ll just show you.”
I realized what he meant and froze. “Don’t touch me.”
His hand found its way into my clothes without hesitation, and the way he acted like he owned me made
me tremble all over.
I yelled, “Keep your hands off me, Jonathan-”
Gritting his teeth, Jonathan remarked with a husky voice, “Has it really been that long? Is that why you’re
so awkward with me now?”
Fabric slithered to the floor in no time, but he hadn’t even loosened his tie.
I glared at him. “Is that your idea of fixing things? Don’t force yourself on me, Jonathan. I’ll hate you.”
Jonathan muttered, “You’re calling it ‘force‘ now? You used to scream my name into the pillows and beg
me to stay.”
I raised my hand to slap him in a fit of rage, but he easily blocked it. “Shut up!”
Pain shot through my wrist, and the sheer humiliation nearly brought me to tears.
Jonathan paused for a moment, then covered my eyes with his hand. “Stop crying. It won’t work this time. You need to learn your lesson.”
I fought back hard, swearing at him and kicking him with all my strength. He stayed unfazed, moving like

it was nothing new to him.

The way his hand traced my body was all familiar and wrong–like a viper tightening its grip, fangs barely
hidden.
I looked up, tears threatening to fall. But the thought of Jonathan’s hand over my eyes made me stubbornly hold it in.
When I realized I was no match for him physically, I immediately stopped struggling.
Jonathan paused for a moment but didn’t stop kissing my face. He continued pressing soft kisses to my ear and down to my neck. His touch was gentle, but his presence was overwhelming and dominant.
Tears choked my voice. “Why can’t you go to Alicia for this? I’m begging you.”
I felt his muscles tense, and my voice cracked with a sob. “Just go to her.”
His touch was warm, whereas his voice was low and deep. “Like I said before. I only see her as a younger
sister.”
I earnestly stated, “You’re not even related by blood, so it’s fine. Your grandpa likes her. Even if you divorced me right now and married her tomorrow, no one would say a word.”
Jonathan looked like he was about to explode. “Do you even hear yourself right now? For the last time,
she is like a sister to me. That’s it.”
I retorted, “Is that so? Then I’ll be waiting for the day you and your ‘sister‘ tie the knot. When you’re all lovey -dovey, I’ll be right there, sending my blessings-”
A loud slap echoed through the room. I froze for a second, then looked up at him with disbelief. “Did you just hit me?”
