“What exactly happened?” Jonathan’s tone grew inpatient.

Jonathan pressed his fingers to his forehead and said hoarsely, “You should go to the hospital first.”
Then, he grabbed my wrist, trying to pull me along. “You’re coming too.”
I struggled hard. “Take her if you want, but why drag me along?”
He gave me a cold look and pointed to a wound on my arm. “Don’t you feel pain?”
I turned my head and finally noticed the blood trickling down my arm.
His cold gaze swept over the group of bodyguards from earlier. “Is this how you were trained? You don’t know when to stop?”
The bodyguards exchanged glances but kept their heads down in silence.
I couldn’t help but defend them. “They’re assigned to protect Alicia. Of course, the no mercy to me!”
Jonathan caught the sarcasm in my tone and replied coolly, “It looks like I need to assign someone specifically to protect you, too.”

Alicia and I sat apart at the hospital, keeping a good distance.
Jonathan glanced at me coldly but said nothing.
Jim approached, and Jonathan instinctively said, “Check her arm.”
Clearly, he wanted Jim to examine me for injuries Jim gave me a brief look before walking straight over to Alicia.
“She’s your wife. Get someone else to check on her.”
Then he frowned and looked at Alicia. “Does it hurt?”
Alicia shook her head, looking at Jonathan with a pitiful expression.
Jonathan frowned slightly but said nothing, calling another doctor to check me.
