Chapter 7
Lisa’s smile froze on her face. Her eyes
widened, disbelief written all over them.
“What did you say?”
“You want to break up, right? I’m agreeing.”
I kept my voice calm, even.
I figured agreeing to a breakup would be
exactly what she wanted, and she’d be thrilled.
But what the hell? I didn’t hear any happiness in her voice. Just shock and anger.
“Ethan, are you out of your mind? You’re going
to dump me over one little fight?”
She glared at me.
I was the one who was confused.
Wasn’t this what she wanted?
So Chad did pull her sleeve for a short time,
and Chad didn’t hesitate from the side to chime
in too, pulling her sleeve gently. “Lisa, Ethan’s the ons saying he wants to break up. I think you should probably let it be…”
Before he could finish, Lisa snapped, “Shut up,
Chad! This doesn’t involve you!”
That was probably the first time she’d ever
really yelled at Chad like that.
He just froze, mouth hanging open.
Lisa seemed to realize she’d gone too far, and

quickly softened her voice, saying quietly to him, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it like that. Just… wait for me outside, okay? This is between Ethan and me. I don’t want to drag you into it.”
Chad, looking hurt but also not wanting to piss
Lisa off even more, nodded and slunk out of the
room.
Once he was gone, Lisa took a deep breath.
Just as she was about to say something, her gaze suddenly landed on the floor where the
broken plate lay. Her voice softened, “Your foot
is bleeding? How many times has this.
happened. Don’t you want me to put a band–aid
on it.”
Lisa walked over to the bookcase.
She was trying to deflect..
Every time we talked about things she hated,

she would try to stop it with caring for me.
“It’s the band–aid, I thought there were some here.”
Her last time in my room was 2 years ago.
“Where is there less in the room?”
She finally found something.
“I already sold the house.”
“You already have the money and you want to be out in 2 days, you move Lisa tomorrow.”
Lisa paused, she snapped with anger.
I will not sign, just don’t get angry and move the
house.
Chad got you a new car!
I got the contract, Here is a form win your
signature, the realtor said it worked.”
“Chad gave me a list of the papers!”
Lisa got angry.
