Chapter 100
Celeste smiled faintly and said, “We’ll see after the apology letter has been posted tomorrow.”
Annie quickly nodded. “Okay.”
It was already past 9:00 pm after she bathed Eloise and read her a bedtime story. Then, a message notification suddenly popped up on her phone.
She picked it up, and her brows furrowed slightly upon seeing who the sender was. It was from
Adrian.
She slid her finger across the screen, and the message quickly came into view.
It read, “Come to the door. I have something for you.”
Celeste’s gaze instinctively shifted toward the door, and there was a slight pause in her heartbeat as she read the message.
Her curiosity piqued, and she quickly made her way to the door. When she opened it, she saw
Adrian’s Maybach parked right outside.
The engine was still running, and he was sitting in the driver’s seat. Their eyes met through the rolled–down passenger window as she stepped out.
Celeste quickened her pace. Once she had reached the car, she heard him say,
“Get in.”
Without saying another word, Celeste pulled open the passenger door and slid into the seat. She asked, “Mr. Wrenford, what is it you’re giving me?”
Adrian lifted his alluring eyes and glanced at her indifferently. A moment later, he held out a piece of paper. “It’s what you asked for.”
Celeste’s gaze dropped to the paper. In just a second, she had already guessed what it was. Why are you the one delivering this? Didn’t Joshua have the time?”
Celeste took the paper from him, a hint of apology crossing her face. She had specifically asked Joshua to handle this, but it turned out Adrian had brought it to her himself.
“Joshua might be out on a date tonight, so he asked me to deliver this to you.”
Celeste’s hand holding the letter froze as soon as those words left his lips. She then smiled faintly. “So, does that mean you have no date tonight?”
With one hand still on the steering wheel, Adrian answered calmly and measuredly, “I can’t have a date when there’s no woman.”
Celeste smirked, lowering her gaze back to the letter.

The letter contained Zander’s confession to orchestrating a scheme against the clinic, along with a heartfelt apology to Celeste.
At that moment, she suddenly felt a hand under her chin.
Before she could react, Adrian’s fingers grasped her jaw and gently tilted her head up. When their eyes met, she froze for a moment.
His striking eyes seemed clouded in the dim light. His voice was low and steady as he asked, ” Do you think it’s funny that I’m single?”
“No!” Celeste quickly shook her head. “How could I laugh at you? It must be that your
standards are too high, and you’ve never met someone you like. It’s better to be single than
settle for less.”
“How do you know I don’t have someone I like?” he asked.
Celeste’s lashes fluttered slightly. She did a double–take, wondering if it meant that he had
someone he liked.
For some reason, hearing that had made something deep inside her twist.
“Is that so? So you already have someone you like?” Celeste solemnly asked. “Then why haven’t you married her? Or at least started dating her?”
