Celeste wanted to hear how Damien would respond to Lucy’s invitation, but a voice from behind interrupted her.
“Ms. Morin, why didn’t you tell me that you were coming?”
She turned toward the voice and saw Jonathan standing behind her. Naturally, the two people inside the room also heard him.
Lucy reluctantly got off his lap, her tone low. “Jonathan, who’s outside?”
“Mr. Wrenford, it’s Ms. Morin. Are you available”
Before Jonathan could finish his thought, Celeste shoved the door open.
Damien looked up to see her strolling in with composure, heading straight to the couch and taking a seat.
“Ms. Morin, why are you here? This is Damien’s workplace. It’s not appropriate for you to barge in like that.” Lucy sounded annoyed.
“I’m his legitimate wife. If it’s inappropriate for me to be here, why is a side chick like you here then?” Celeste shot her a cool glance, her tone cold and sharp.
“Ms. Morin, who are you calling a side chick?”
“I didn’t name anyone, did I? If you believe that I’m talking about you, I can’t stop you.”
“Celeste, that’s enough!” Damien rose swiftly and walked to the couch. “What do you want from me?”
“Tell her to go. I’d like to discuss something with you privately.” Celeste’s tone was icy, and her expression indifferent.
He frowned. “Lucy is not an outsider. Why can’t she hear what you have to say?”
“But she’s not your wife. I am. I want to discuss something private. Are you going to keep her here? Her tone became colder. “If you let her leave quickly, maybe you won’t have to sneak around so much next time.”
Upon hearing this, Damien’s expression darkened.
Lucy was furious, but she couldn’t do anything with him around. She gently tugged on his sleeve and murmured, “Since that’s the case, let’s talk later on the phone. I’ll leave now.”
“Okay.”
Damien nodded gently and looked at her with affection.
Celeste turned to glance at him. She had never seen such affection on his face before. Even in

“What else is there left between us?” Celéste looked at him without emotion, her tone serene. “I came to convince you to sign the divorce papers. When will you do it?”
He leaned forward and picked up his cup of coffee. “I’ve already told you many times. Given Grandpa’s condition, I can’t divorce you right now. I would’ve signed long ago if not for him. You don’t have to keep bothering me.”
“And I’ve also told you that I can play along with you for a while before the divorce. We can break the news to Alaric once he’s feeling better. Doesn’t this plan sound better to you?”
“You’ve spent a lot of time with my uncle recently. I heard that he also visited Aviso Tower yesterday. When did you two get so close?”
