The next morning, Amella left the country for a medical–summit.
When Seraphina called Juliana apain, Juliana said over the phone, “Tell your cousin be’s got more time to pick on the pounds. Amelia’s left the country and won’t be back for about a month.”
“How do you know? Has Anelia called you?
“Yeah, she called at 1:00 am last night.”
She called at 1:00 am to give you a travel update? Is she out of her mind?!
End the rest of them have to adjust their time zones just because she was on a flipped schedule?
Infinasaid, “She called about Yvette.”
“What about her!”
Juliana said, “She was nished to the hospital late last night. Turns out she’s got multiple health issues.”
“Multiple? Like what?
Seraphina was stunned just yesterday, she’d seen Yvette with Adrian at the OB–GYN and assumed she might be pregnant.
But now she was told that Yvette was sick.
Johana replied, “Uterine cancer, heart disease, and possibly liver cancer too.”
That list hit like a ton of bricks. Seraphina sucked in a sharp breath on the other end of the line. “Wait… What? That many? How the hell did she end up
with uterine cancer?”
Clearly, people who didn’t study medicine only had a surface–level understanding Like Juliana, Seraphina’s tone instantly shifted when she heard
“How would I know? Amelia said she has professional ethics as a doctor, so she didn’t tell me much. Let’s not sit around speculating either.”
Seraphina snorted. “Fine. No gossiping. But seriously, she and Adrian are definitely over. What family would accept a daughter–in–law who comes with a medical record that reads like a horror story?”
The elders from the Callahan family weren’t thrilled about Yvette when they found out she was born to a housemaid.
Now with this medical news? No way they’d approve
Secaplana continued, “You’d better brace yourself. Now that Yvette’s health is public knowledge, the elders in the Callahan family are going to be in full- blown panic mode–afraid Adrian might try to get back together with her. So they’ll probably start pressuring you to move forward with the welding as soon as possible”
It was too late to find someone else. They’d definitely lock Jullana in now. On top of that, she was from the Larson family, which made the Callahan family believe she could be used to counterbalance Yvette.
Seraphine wasn’t wrong.
The elders from the Callahan family had already caught wind of Yvette’s hospital visit last night, and her pile of health issues, especially uterine cancer, was completely unacceptable to them.
After a quick breakfast, Juliana was getting ready to head to her studio when she got a call from Lydia Goldburg, Adrian’s mother.
“Jules, come to the house for lunch today. I’ll cook all your favorite dishes. I’ll have Adrian pick you up.”
Juliana turned her down flat. “Thanks, Mrs. Callalian, but I’ve got work this afternoon. I’ll have to pass.‘
She did have work
Stellaris Group had handed her a major project this tline, and she didn’t trust her team to handle it by themselves, so she planned to get involved personally.
Lydia sighed on the other end. “Now that Vyette’s hack, you don’t even want to see the anymore, do you?”

“I can come to your instead,” Lydia offered

She picked up. “Hello?”
Adrian’s voice came through
Toliana almost hang up right away.
Adrian was also frustrated when he called. He knew full well that every time be called, she blocked the number afterward.
She’d already blocked Jordan’s number, and now this one, probably a burner, would likely be blocked soon, too.
“Mom said I should come pick you up. Did you tell her you’re going to the Callahan residence?” He sounded exchanted.
By the sound of it, he must’ve spent the entire night at the hospital with Yvette
Juliana replied with a flat “Yeah.”

Just breathing the same air as him made her skin crawl
Adrian could hear the coldness in her tone. His temples started throbbing “I’ll come get you. Just wait at Solvane Park”
Juliana didn’t bother replying. She hung up on him
On his end, Adrian was exactly where she imagined–running on no sleep after staying with Yvette at the hospital all night.
