Chapter 15
Nicole’s face turned ghostly pale upon hearing this.
Brandon shot her an icy glare.
“Play the recording,” he ordered Joseph.
Joseph immediately held up his phone and tapped the play button.
Nicole’s voice played through the speaker, layered with the unmistakable sounds of undressing and moans.
“There’s nothing between Brandon and me, Kirk. We’re not a couple–just ordinary classmates. Besides, what is he compared to you? I fell for you at first sight. And I’m young too. It’s been years since your wife passed–so, how about I be your next one?” she said.
Kirk chuckled coldly. “I know you’re only after my money, so you’ll sign a prenuptial agreement before we marry. You won’t get a penny out of me.”
“I’m not after your money. I love you.” Nicole giggled sultrily. “Ah! Don’t be so rough…”
Once the first recording ended, Joseph immediately played the next one.
This one was from when Nicole was taking care of Kirk while he was in the hospital.
She sounded irritated as she spoke on the phone. “This old fart’s about to die, and yet he didn’t leave me a single cent in his will! Hmph! It’s a good thing I planned for this and strung Brandon along all these years.
“The Slewman family’s fortune will be as good as mine once he inherits it. The money will still be in my hands as long as I keep him wrapped around my finger. Plus, he’s head–over–heels in love with me, so he’ll believe anything I say!”
Once the recording ended, Joseph said to Brandon, “These recordings were part of your father’s will, sir. He instructed his lawyer to give them to you when the time was right, to help you see Nicole Manther’s true colors.”
Brandon’s gaze was devoid of warmth as he turned to Nicole.

Nicole’s face went ashen as her body began trembling from fear. Yet, she still tried to convince him otherwise.
“It’s not like that, Brandon… I… I was desperate. You know what my family situation is like. My father has been paralyzed for years, and now my mom is terminally ill. I’m the only one they can depend on to support them…” she said.
Shaking his head, Brandon stated, “I won’t believe any more of your lies, Nicole.”

“No, Brandon, please… Please forgive me, just this once. I’m begging you! For the sake of all the years we’ve been together, don’t leave me!” Nicole pleaded.
However, Brandon apathetically turned away from her.
Then, he announced to the media reporters waiting outside, “You can go in and take your photos now. Mrs. Nicole Slewman has violated the customs of my father, Kirk Slewman’s, mourning period. As such, the board has the right to strip her of her status as his widow.
“Make sure your reports are clear. From now on, Nicole Manther will no longer have ties to the Slewman family. The board will also be pressing embezzlement charges for the funds she has misappropriated over the years.”
Nicole would be spending the rest of her life behind bars.
The reporters flooded into the private room to snap photos of Nicole’s disheveled state.
Frantic, she cried and screamed as she hid her face. However, unlike before, Brandon never
looked back.
Once outside the club, Joseph reported, “Per your instructions, sir, I’ve continued searching for your wife, but I haven’t found any traces of her. Shall I keep looking?”
Brandon pulled the divorce agreement out of his suit pocket and ripped it up.
Then, he said in a low and resolute tone, “No, I’ll look for Roxanne myself. I’ll find her no matter where she is.”
