Chapter 7
“That’s right. If you remarry me, I can give you a chance. As long
as…”
He hadn’t finished his sentence when I hung up on him.
He not only hurt me but also affected my family.
I couldn’t just sit back and do nothing.
I used my professional skills and stayed up all night piecing together all the evidence to publish it online.
Henry thought he could ruin everything for me with just two videos.
As if!
Once my posts went live, they quickly topped the trending list with a hashtag: “A kept–man fails to threaten his ex–wife and ends up framing“.
Public opinion shifted.
Henry was forced to block me again on the road.
After Robert saw that I had cleared my name, he let me come back to work, only to be stopped by Henry during my commute.
Chapter 7
His eyes were bloodshot. “Catherine, I am going crazy!”
Those netizens dug up all his dirty laundry, and even Jasper was
affected.
Everyone cursed them for being ungrateful.
I sneered, “This is all your own doing.”
Henry raised his hand, wanting to hit me.
People around recognized him and began to condemn him.
In the end, he had to leave in disgrace.

After Robert knew I was back, the first thing he did was ask me to his
office.
“Mr. Dickens.” I stood before him silently.
He nodded and handed me a document. “Take a look at this first.”
I took it with confusion, flipped through it a few times, and then felt a surge of excitement. “Mr. Dickens. This is…”
The company had an opportunity this year for an exchange program for a vice president position at a branch abroad.
I had been eyeing this promotion for a long time.
I didn’t expect Robert to give it directly to me.
Chapter 7
As I walked out of his office holding the document, I felt light as in
heaven.
When I got home, I couldn’t wait to share the good news with Tracy.
She agreed enthusiastically, “Not bad! Sometimes, there is light at the end of the tunnel!”
By now, I found fate seemed to be quite kind to me.
Tracy was also planning to send Andy abroad for studies this year.
Now, he would just catch up with me.
Tracy patted my shoulder. “I am leaving Andy to you. When you come back, I will treat you to dinner.”
I knew that the feast would probably be delayed for several years.
I felt a bit guilty as I touched my nose because it might be Andy who
would take care of me.
After finishing my current projects, I began to handle the arrangements for going abroad.
The visa came through quickly.
Until I stood at the airport with Andy, I still felt a bit out of

sorts.
That day, Tracy was busy and couldn’t come to see us off.
After checking multiple times for any forgotten items, I took Andy to the security check.
At that moment, a familiar voice came from behind me. “Mom!”
I cursed. “What an annoying spirit.”
Andy took my luggage. “I will go check in first.”
I nodded.
As I turned around, I saw Jasper looking at me with red eyes.
Henry was hiding behind a nearby column, sneaking a look this way.
My tone wasn’t very pleasant. “What are you doing here?”
Jasper reached out to grab my shirt but timidly pulled back.
“Mom, do you really bear to leave me with Dad?”
“I don’t want to repeat myself.”
Henry was so quick to divorce, yet he kept coming to entangle me afterward.
Jasper stammered. Suddenly, he seemed to find an excuse and

shouted, “You haven’t given me my alimony yet!”
I looked at him deeply.
He felt uneasy under my gaze, scratching his neck. “So, you can’t leave…”
“Alimony? Okay?”
I pulled out a bank card from my wallet and handed it to him.
“This is all your tuition and living expenses until you turn 18. My obligation has been fulfilled.”
Jasper didn’t take it but started to cry.
I stuffed the bank card into the pocket of his shirt and walked away without looking back.
