Emily’s Skepticism and Ryan’s Confidence
As Ryan confidently asserted his plans to win over Belinie, Emily couldn’t help but look at him with skepticism.
“Liam thinks highly of me,” Ryan boasted with a grin. “He even gave me Belinie’s number himself. Isn’t that practically permission for me to pursue her? Relax, I’ll win her over for sure.”
Emily offered a faint nod, keeping her doubts to herself, as unease lingered in her heart.

At the Thomas Family Estate
Arriving at the Thomas family estate, Jessica found only Abigail at home, with Nathaniel and Liam at the company.
Abigail greeted her warmly. “Come here, Jessica. Liam and I were just saying yesterday how much we’ve missed you.”
Jessica smiled as she sat beside Abigail, linking arms with her. “And now I’m here to visit. How have you been? Any health concerns lately?”
Abigail shook her head with a bright smile. “I feel wonderful! Ever since you performed that surgery for me, my heart hasn’t given me a single problem.”
Jessica nodded. “I’m glad to hear that.”
Years earlier, during a trip to Chixdon, Jessica had saved Abigail’s life after a heart attack. Her quick thinking and subsequent surgery not only restored Abigail’s health but also forged a deep bond between them. Eventually, Abigail and Nathaniel had invited Jessica to become their goddaughter, and their connection only grew stronger over time.

The Divorce Discussion
After a while, Abigail shifted the topic. “Liam mentioned that you and Ethan were supposed to finalize the divorce today?”
Jessica sighed. “It’s been postponed,” she admitted before recounting her recent conversation with Jonathan.
Abigail listened intently before giving a knowing smile. “It sounds like Ethan’ father is hoping to give you two a chance to reconsider. He’s using this delay as a gentle nudge.”
Jessica nodded. “I understand what he’s trying to do.”
Abigail looked at Jessica curiously. “And how do you feel about this, dear?”
Jessica’s smile was tinged with irony. “I’m just waiting for the divorce to go through next month.”
Abigail raised an eyebrow. “Not even tempted to try one last time?”
Jessica’s expression turned serious. “After three years of trying and failing to win Ethan’ heart, I know I can’t change things in a month. Even if I could, I don’t want to. I’ve reached my limit. I’m done living my life chasing someone else’s affection. I want to live for myself now.”
Abigail’s eyes softened with approval. “That’s a wise choice, Jessica. I’m proud of you for making it.”
Jessica chuckled lightly, feeling a sense of peace wash over her.

A Plan to Make an Ex Jealous
After dinner, Liam called Jessica to his study.
“What’s on your mind?” she asked as she stepped inside.
Liam held up his phone with a mischievous grin. “How about we take a photo together?”
Jessica raised an eyebrow, her lips curving into a smirk. “Still trying to make your ex jealous, I see?”
Liam’s expression turned serious. “That video of us dancing when you returned got a ton of attention online. She saw it, but she’s still not responding. It’s time to turn up the heat. No way she can ignore this.”
Jessica sighed but smiled. “Alright, what’s the plan for this photo?”
Liam had everything set up already. “Follow my lead,” he instructed, arranging the pose.

The Photo Goes Viral
In no time, the photo was taken and uploaded to Liam’s social media. It featured Jessica and Liam standing close, smiling warmly at the camera, their connection radiating through the image.
“That should do it,” Liam said, looking satisfied.

Ethan Sees the Post
Elsewhere, Ethan was scrolling through his social media feed when Liam’s post appeared. His thumb froze mid-scroll as he stared at the image.
The sight of Jessica smiling alongside Liam struck a nerve. Ethan’ jaw tightened, his grip on his phone firm as a flicker of annoyance crossed his face.
For reasons he couldn’t explain, the photo made him uneasy.
